Well sometimes I am slow to the newer stuff but now with the factory Hornady 108 ELD load out I figured it was about time to get a 6mm Creedmoor. Hunter Phillips at SK Arms in Midland, TX put a 28" 7.7 twist med palma contour Bartlein barrel with Seekins Precision ATC brake, which made it easy to spot shots, on my Surgeon switch barrel set up and I made it to the range today. Rifle came back on Wednesday but of course I was working the past three days.

The Hornady 108 load shot great as you can see below from the 5 shot group but I didn't get to shoot any farther today. Got the scope zeroed and shot at 100. This was my first 20 rounds through the rifle so figuring the speed to pick up some but the 108 load chronoed at 2960fps from this rifle. Look forward to trying to load up some of the 105 BTHPs I have for my .243 in this and see how they do.

I too shoot a 6 creedmoor. I'm not sure if I'll ever do another though. My 6 dasher has dam near the same velocity with 105 hybrids and the dasher uses 10 grains less powder.
I reload for everything and I never buy new ammo. If I was to buy new ammo then I'd probably stick with the CM

Nice one Rob,like the bolt knob on the TL3, I think your going to like it. Been shooting my 6 creed for 3yrs and love it. Recently built a Dasher and its great but my 6creed is still my fav

Thanks for the feedback Rob!!! Glad we could get it put together for you. If anybody needs anything please let me know and we'll get your stuff turned around in no time.

Your Dasher is pushing 105s close to 3200?

I switched from the 6.5 to the 6mm Creedmoor in my comp rifle this year. It's definitely my sweet spot.

I think the beauty of the 6 Creedmoor going forward will be it's ability to push the heavier bullets like the 108gr Hornady and the 110gr Sierra at close to speed limit PRS velocities.

A 6mm Dasher or XC isn't going to get 3150fps out the 110gr Sierra. And with that kind of velocity and ballistic performance, that's a hell of a nice round.

I just joined the 6mm Creedmoor club as well. Barrel for my AI AX should be here any day.
Can you guys comment on the Hornady 6mm Creedmoor brass. Is it good to go? I though that I read somewhere that when the brass first came out the primer pockets were going only after a couple of firings. Would like to know before I buy a whole bunch.
    Thanks!

The Hornady brass is GTG and is plentiful.

Depends how hard you push it. 42.5+ gr of 4350 or RL16, you're going to lose the pockets pretty fast. That's the beauty of using Hornady brass for competition though.

Since it's so cheap and easy to get, and you only get a handful of firings out of it, you don't care so much about losing a few pieces. Additionally, 6.5 creedmoor brass will do just as well as the 6mm stuff, so if you have buddies that shoot factory ammo... well, you have yourself a gold mine.

Anyone getting into the 6 mm game pretty much already knows about the short barrel life and if they don't, will find out soon enough. Running them at or under 3000 fps is not hot though and can extend the barrel life considerably. I've seen a 6 mm comp match barrel go 4000 rounds because the owner kept his speeds reasonable instead of going for 3200 fps.

We will see what tune y'all are singing after you cook those barrels. 1200-1500 rounds if you're lucky, have fun. If you can't hit with 2950fps, maybe you can't hit it at all...

Those that shoot hot 6s are well aware of the short barrel life, but there's a reason guys keep building them. You can keep your slow 6.5s and leave us to do our thing.

    ... The less you know.

Why do people hate on the 6mm for barrel life when their 6.5 is run at half the barrel life of a .308? Barrel life isn't everything. If I had a dedicated competition gun, hell yah I would consider a barrel burner.

I’ve got 4 firings on my 6mm creedmoor hornady brass and no loose primer pockets. I have had a few split cases but I’m turning my casses and pushing them pretty hard so that’s not bad! Also, it doesn’t hurt too bad to lose a case every now and then.

Try h4350 and Sierra 107s. The entire suggested charge chart is a node in my RPR. Running a lower charge to save barrel.life.

Ps...To the Op...u missed that dime everytime. :D. Seriously, sweet rifle man.

I'm glad you kept your 243 barrel. Someone was giving me a hard time the other day about my 243, I said rob01 still runs one, lol. I had a 6creed, good rd and I was impressed by the low sd every load ran, but that could have been lapua brass or barrel quality too. In the end I had so much 243win brass(800), and I can get 3120 with 110 easily in my 243 at lower pressure, so I sold my 6creed. I've got a 243ai 24" barrel sitting here for when my 243 barrel goes. .3" hot fireform loads, no case stretch, can run cooler h4831sc, and a downloaded 243ai will run 3150 and a hot rod for no speed limit local matches can hit 3340. At least that's what performance in 2 previous 243ai yielded.
