Rifle Scopes Sig Tango 6

I am testing the 4-24x50 Tango6 right now and so far I like it. It is too early to make any conclusions, but it seems like a very respectable design with DevL reticle. It is a little heavier than I like, but so far it has been tracking true on the gun for the first 12 mrad. I will test the rest of the adjustment range on the collimator.

I like 'em. I have two of the first gen models; a 2-12 and a 3-18. I haven't actually shot the 2-12 yet, but the 3-18 is really pretty nice through about 15x... after that the eye box seems to get extraordinarily tight.

In regard to tracking, again, I have only played with the 3-18, and it's been good for me (note that the only testing I have done is in regard to dialing in my POI, but the adjustments seem to be spot-on).

I've got several and really think they are great. Glass is solid, turrets are good, nice reticle designs, zero stop, locking turrets, and the Levelplex rounds them out, pretty good scopes.

I have four sig scopes now in varying models and love all of them. They track straight, positive clicks, clear glass, no issues at all. Just wish I would have waited for the Levelplex for my first two, it's a nice addition to the newer models.

I just got 3 different specs when looking up the 3-18, and couldn’t find it on Sigs page. One major retailer showed 18”s. My original note said just over 15”. I just picked a different site, and it shows more reasonable measurements at 12.4, with it being 2” shorter than a 5-25. I’ll stick with that. Thanks for confirming that it didn’t sound right.

I had the 5-25 the only problem I had with the scope was when you locked the elevation turret it would shift 1/2 click. Which in turn would throw your zero off 1/2 click. But unlock it and it was true. So I always made sure the turret was unlocked.

yea the levelplex is a very cool and innovative feature in these scopes, i wish other manufacturers would pick it up as well.

Leupold VX-6HD has a similar feature. the reticle illumination blinks if it isn't level to within 1 degree I think? But that is the only other scope that I have heard that has a cant indicator built in. Well the Revic scope has one but it's a different animal and don't think its available yet either.

The initial Gen 1's where the 2-12 and 3-18, which are around 14 inches. I have a 2-12 and I think the 2-12 and the 3-18 are the same length just a larger diameter objective on the 3-18. The 5-25 came out later and was around the same I believe but came with Levelplex. The 2-12 was discontinued and Gen 2 of the 3-18 was shortened and included new shorter turrets added the Dev-L reticle, which wasn't available on Gen 1's and Levelplex. They also added the 4-24

Current Tango6 Gen 2 line-up inclides 1-6x24, 3-18x44, 4-24x50 and 5-30x56 scopes.

I am looking at the 4-24x50 right now and I have looked at Gen 2 3-18x44 in the past. So far I like both scopes.

The Gen 2 3-18x44 is a lot shorter than Gen 1, but also significantly heavier, which is why I decided to look at the higher magnification version that is almost the same weight. Once we go into heavier weight, I want a little more magnification.

I know you've been playing around with the Gen 2 3-18 for a while now. Any full report yet? Other than the size for the 2-12, I like it a lot. I think the glass is really good. The reticle is simple but the illumination gets crazy bright if you want. I don't love the turrets but they work. I'm thinking about getting a 4-24 but waiting to see how some of the new scopes coming out fair.

This makes sense. I went back and found the old measurements I wrote down and they were for a Gen 1.

I was thinking the same thing on weight when I updated my notes on the spec comparison. May just go bigger.
