This is no surprise to me. The MSM has had their world turned upside down. The business model that they have been following for decades is gone due to the instantaneous news offered by the internet and social media.
Any wonder why their content now panders either to the extreme left or the extreme right? The extremists are the only audiences they have left. Of course in so doing, they are doing nothing but inciting both sides to an inevitable moment of decision. That is why I despise all MSM. They fully realize what the are doing and will certainly capitalize on anything that results. They don't care about anything other than their wallet. It is all stinking yellow journalism.

My guess is that he got skewered by the viewers so badly concerning his anti-2A position after the Parkland shooting that he was done for already, but needed to deflect in order to try and regain his dignity before he got canned.
