I really want a premier scope. I've found a few for sale but after researching, have noticed a lot of guys saying the parallax can get ruined by too much torque on the rings and with no warranty...would I be a fool at this point to even purchase one? I'm not going to be dragging this thing over mountains and beating the piss out of it. But I really dont want an $1800 paper weight. Is it pretty much general consensus now to just steer clear of them? Or should I be ok?

I use mine for prs and it’s awsome. I have a 3-15 tactical gen 2 mil dot in a Spuhr at 20/in lbs no parallax issues.
Mine is also covered by the TT warranty. If you get one covered by the warranty, and they can’t repair it they will give you a partial credit toward a new TT. The amount of credit they give you will be determined at the time they deem it non repairable.

I have 4 of them with many years of service on each. I love them too but I'm not sure I would purchase one now, at least when you can buy new Schmidts 5-25x for around $2k. And the Minox 5-25x, a sub $3k option, is basically a new Premier. I would do one of those choices over a used Premier unless you could get the Premier for well under $2k, maybe in the $1.5k range.

Well, adding to the crowd I have two also. I've never had problems with the parallax and am under the impression that issue was resolved relatively early on. They are on par with everything else I have with the only complaint being the funky adjustment lever on the turrets. I also would not purchase another only based on the fact Premier is out of business and warranty/repair from TT is dubious at best. There are just way too many great options with current manufacturers. As mentioned if you could get a great price it might be worth it to take a chance knowing it could be (probably) disposable if busted.

I just got one for a good price that I feel is fair enough for the current situation with premier and warranty crap. The seller stated hes had no issues and the parallax works as it should. I know some guys swear against them, and that's fine. I just have a special place in my heart for them after I used them in the Corps. I just liked them more than the schmidts...blasphemy, I know. I just figured I'd ask where everyone else stood on them.

Pass. Get a Minox or buck up for the TT. Ive seen too many go down. How long till TT wipes their hands completely and doesn't cover anything period? Not worth it to me...Man they were great scopes tho.

I’ve got the 5-25x56 and its fantastic. I also have a ton of S&Bs, a Kahles k625i, and a Minox ZP5.

The Premier is second to none. I’ve got it in a Near Manufacturing Alphamount that was purpose built to hold the scope without over doing external pressure.

Its about 7 years old and has a shitload of 300WM under it... great scope.

My Premier 5-25 GEN2XR was my first really expensive optic, oh the glass was so nice and bright, clear. I used it so much I wore out the turrets, guess they can start slipping and the aluminum can wear down, probably user error on my part. I remember the new company that took over was more than happy to help me fix things via warranty work. All optics are prone to failure, it's how well a company is willing to fix the issues that states the overall quality for me.
