I may have missed it in the article, I don't think it was mentioned, but does the bill specify rifle separate from pistol or just any mag over 10 rounds is illegal?
Not at all but just wanted some clarification. The huge kick in the nuts is if its for all magazines then almost anyone with a pistol is screwed and now a felon. Thankfully I don't live in Jersey but its only a matter of time until it reaches my state. Based on the new lib governor we just elected I'm guessing 2019.
I hope all LEOs abide by the same, definitely the Governor's state trooper protective detail should. Same goes for the soldiers in the NJ National Guard who also report to the Governor. I know they're not, they never are, because the two class system in America grows every day.

I used to live there. I went to many rallies with hundreds and hundreds of people. It all meant shit! Jersey is a cesspool of liberalism in the northern and southern parts. Central Jersey is a mostly sensible republican place but as the sanctuary cities grow there is less and less hope. Central Jersey rifle & pistol is one of the nicest places I have ever shot. There are a lot of good people behind enemy lines....
Jersey is in its own class of stupid, always trying to be more like their big brother one state up. Fuck them, their voters got what they asked for. Just like Californians and Coloradans, those who love freedom should leave in droves and take their wages and thereby tax dollars with them. Ironically most of the people who will violate the law will probably be the "average' gun owner here who takes his pistol to the indoor range once a year. There are tons of people like that who aren't active on forums and don't keep up on "gun politics" so they have their semi-auto Glock, Sig, M&P, etc with 15 round magazines sitting in the safe until the next outing.

These laws are based around money. More votes equals more money. More pushback from the NRA equals more money from donors like Bloomberg, etc. If stopping crime was really a concern, why not just go after the criminals in Newark, Camden, Trenton, Atlantic City, etc??

While I hope it gets overturned (local gun organizations are already in litigation) I don't think it makes sense for anyone in the state to lose existing gun rights as the test case.
Until it's overturned in the courts it's the law of the land, so violation has consequences.
Would be analogous to telling someone to ignore restrictions on silencers or automatic weapons.
