That TAC A1 "2-stage" trigger is quite nice, that first stage is made with the sping, so it is not pure 2-stage trigger.
With yodaves spring, you can get that very very light, psr and other shooting, where you need very light trigger, but not to hunting, it is braking way too easy.
Just purchased the Tikka T3X Tac 300 Win Mag and it will be here Friday. The Beretta web site says it has a 18x1 threaded barrel. I'm assuming they are referring to LH threads but I could not find anywhere that actually states it. Wanting to get an adapter for my suppressor before the gun arrives. Does anyone know for sure?

Does anyone know if the bolt can be reassembled without the firing pin? I'm supposed to get mine back from the factory today and I'd like to see if the feeding problem is fixed, but I won't be able to get to the range until the weekend.
I think yes, but dont let the bolt handle slipp off the bolt, or it might be hader job to get out of the action.
Because the pin has the notch and the sping that keep the handle in tight on the bolt.

I had sent in my T3x Tac A1 because the magazines were not feeding the last two rounds. After no communication from Beretta, the rifle came back today. They returned two magazines (I sent three), there was no note in the box about what they did, and the magazines still aren't feeding. Disappointing experience.
Beretta seems to let down the experience of owning a Tikka.

Yes, I’ve tried that in one of the magazines, but it didn’t help. These springs are very weak to begin with compared to every other magazine I’ve seen. I think I will probably sell the rifle.

When i had my first T3X CTR, i did noticed that poor magazine, tryed it for couple times, and bought TRG original magazine from SAKO.
Never had any issues with the TRG magazine, you can not even compare Tikka magazine to TRG, material are totally different quality.
I did strip the CTR magazine in to a pieces, and re-assembled it so, that i made threads on the rivets place in the magazine, so that i could take it a part and strech
that soft follower spring, when it started to show weaknes, and it was s--t in the begging, so i did not used it for a long time.
With the TRG magazine it was pleasure to handle.
But TRG magazine is gold on the price, holy smole.
Now with KRG chassies i use MDT AICS style magazines i have zero errors on feeding and these are cheap, really like them.

Interesting. I just ordered a TRG magazine (since Beretta stole my third mag anyway). It didn’t occur to me that they’d be different.
My CTR is a T3 and it came with the TRG mag. I bought 2 of the T3x CTR mags with the plastic bottom and haven't had any problems except when I tried to load some 140 RDFs too long and they bound up in the mags. I stripped all 3 down and had the cerakoted as one of the T3x mag had surface rust on it when I bought it used. Not much difference in construction on the inside.

Using Federal GMM 175smk the 1st 10 rounds went into .58 moa 2543fps sd of 9.8 measured on labradar!!
I’m happy.......

Just shot factory 143 ELDx over my MS sporter last wknd. Was getting 2571-2579fps averages with an SD of 17-19. This out of 24” blue 6.5 Creedmoor CTR.
Anyone else getting the same?

I have not experienced any slowness with my Tikka barrels. If you are shooting long bullets there will be a lot more friction from the engraving force, and of course heavier will be slower.

Received the new T3X Tactical in 300 WM and seems pretty nice. Mounted a gen 1 ATACR 5-25 on it and picked up a SICO brake for it as well. Only negative is the long throat. Loaded some Berger 200.20x at 20 thou off the lands and the cartridge length was 3.715". Going to single feed them just to see what they do. Have they come out with a good bottom metal yet that works with AI mags? Plan on getting a Mcmillan A5 for it but it's a least a 6 month lead time. Thats what they told me anyways when I ordered the game scout for a 16" 6.5 Creed that I'm building on a T3 action. Ordered a 3 groove Pac-Nor barrel for it. These barrels shoot really well and pretty fast also after I have them Black Nitrided by H&M.

What velocity are you getting?
Does the short 308 jump around off a bipod/bag? How bad is the muzzle blast with and without the brake?
I really want a 6.5 but the short barrel is temping. If I get the 6.5, I may chop it to 18.5” I’m a big fan of handy compact bolt guns. I want to shoot at a 1000 but mostly I will be inside 800 so I can stand to lose the velocity. We’ll see though. I’m torn on the 308 vs 6.5 debate. I don’t own either or anything for either so I still think 6.5 is the way to go. And I’m torn CTR or Tac A1. Only downside to the A1 I see is that it’s not AICS mags, but I don’t own any so I’m buying mags either way. If I go CTR I am going to want to do a chassis and 2 statue trigger right away so I’m actually money ahead on the A1. The A1 ticks all the boxes for me it seems out of the box. If I go A1, all I will need is scope rings to be up and running.
Right now, is 6.5 or 308 cheaper on ammo?

Five years ago I came to the Hide looking for suggestions on my first rifle and after some good suggestions, I settled on a Tikka T3 Tactical 20" in .308. That rifle has been a gem and has served me very well. This year I decided I wanted a 6.5 CM because I joined a range that has 1000 yard FClass matches locally. I decided after a lot of thought to order a Tikka CTR with a 24" barrel. It's in at the FFL and I get to pick it up tomorrow. Thinking about ordering a McMillian for it.
This is from Eurooptic website, the fine print does say the 16” does not come with brake which would lead me to believe it is different from the Creed
If it was made for the US market it is 5/8-24. I have 2 CTR barrels are they are both the same. CTR and the TAC A1 use the same barrels.
My friend has a T3 CTR, and I have a T3x Varmint. My Varmint has a stainless bolt, while his CTR has a teflon coated bolt. The other day we cycled them side by side and it seemed to both of us that the stainless bolt was significantly smoother than the teflon one. Both receivers are blued, and we've tried each bolt in each receiver. The teflon coating just seemed to produce significantly more friction upon contact with the receiver. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced the same thing? If that's the case, then what is the point of the teflon coating?
I would agree with you. I think the uncoated bolt is smoother but the difference can only be felt sitting on the couch. They both are very smooth. Maybe the teflon bolt will run better dirty. There may be something to it and there may not be.
My Tac A1, 308 and 20 in barrel, has the M18x1 thread. And it also has a little heavier barrel than the other one, also a 308 but with 24 in barrel. Other Tac A1 in store when I was picking the rifle. Also, I was told that mine has the same barrel as TRG (same OD, same profile, phosphate finish)
I have both and I don't really feel a difference, both are super slick. It could also depend on what kind of lube was used. Some can be pretty thick, especially some greases.
My Tikka bolts are always slickest when completely dry, nickel boron on steel, but I don't run them that way. I agree with @wade2big, the difference makes no difference in actual operation. Still the smoothest feeding actions I've ever experienced (among all the commercial brands).
