My new 3000 BDXs finally got delivered today and I don't know who in the hell at Sig Sauer came up this absolute monstrosity of a binocular strap/harness/case, but they need to be fired ASAP. Damn Sig I just want to wear my binos around my neck I am not looking to strap/carry a fucking Chihuahua around my neck like a new born baby. WTF On a positive note I like the binos seem well made and thanks Liberty Optics for the great deal.

Amen Brudda. Stupidest strap/case I’ve ever seen. And wuz up with the gray color already? Case is similar to the Kuiu, if that’s what blows your skirt up, but I just wanted a neck strap!

Kudos to Scott for s great deal and customer service though.

Similar to my thoughts. That said, I’m using this for a carry harness when needed:

And using this for a case:

    Problem solved.

    Agreed.
For such a great product, they totally blew the one piece of support equipment packaged with it.
They totally should have spent that money on a straight forward, vanilla strap and a decent rubber cap set.

If anyone wants one (the Sig OEM strap/harness/ thing) that is brand new and never attached, send me $7.50 for the small flat rate box and it's yours.

I chunked it in the garbage can on that side of the shop. It's still clean but going in the dumpster Tuesday.

I was going to get the 5.11 padded pouch but found that I had a spare medium sized Armageddon gear "The Possibles Bag" bag lying around. The bino pouch that came with the Sigs fit quite nicely in it and when the top bungee will have more than adequate protection when throw in my pack. I don't intend to use a neck strap as I will be setting mine primarily on a BOG tripod bino cradle most of the time when paired with my Kestrel.

Are you pairing them with a BDX scope? I’m very curious how well the combo works out in the field.
They work very well, Ive used both the 2400 and 3k BDX's with a BDX scope, and it excellent. Only downside is you have to stay close to the scope...within a couple yards or so. Still need to test to see exactly how far, but you are not seperating by far before communication stops.

Otherwise, it is fast and very accurate out to the 700 yards we tested it to.

    Caps should’ve been a given...
Definitely want caps, and considering everyone prefers a different carry method, even if you are using a harness, but most people want caps regardless...they should probably shift to caps.

Mine are in an AGC pack at the moment, I prefer that over the Kuiu style personally, but had to source caps.

I agree it's a stupid case design for anyone that's actually in the field and not giving lens caps is even dumber, it just shows how completely out of touch Sig is.

What happens when you hunt? Dirt, briars, leaves, sticks, etc. get everywhere. Sig's case is a giant mouth to collect that stuff, and worse yet then they don't give you any lens caps on a binocular where the objective lenses are basically flush with the end of the barrels. They have basically zero protection being that close to the housing end and not recessed. All it would need is lens caps, and instead of a "open mouth" a flap that covered the top that could be pulled back and stowed.

That said I was surprised to see that the ocular focus on mine are pretty stiff, so perhaps they've at least fixed that atrocity. The other two things I noticed immediately is how blue/green tinted the right lens is, it's like looking through an RMR, never seen that in any of my higher end ranging binoculars, my guess is for the display. The left side is yellow/orange tinted, when you look through both you don't really notice a tint, so it's probably being used to counter the color shift but that much tint has to be costing light transmission. Also while the range of manual brightness settings has a great range of dim to bright, the "Auto" setting is way too dim in overcast or flat light conditions.

I will give credit to Sig for bringing bluetooth integration to the market at a reasonable price, it's something Leica, Zeiss, and Swarovski should have done 5+ years ago but they've been happy to sit on doing nothing but increasing max range. Also for making a rangefinder that will range under 1 yard (I was able to range 0.9y) and giving decimal yardages. Archery hunters and tournament shooters will greatly appreciate that.
