His parents must be destroyed right now. Hopefully they can see their son with the most respect and honor we do right now.

I have had some heavy stuff as of late, loss of 2 men I have looked up to and reminders often and 2 others with stage 4 CA dx 3 months apart.
Has caused me to be very reflective of how momma, my kids, family, and closest friends will remember me.
The above quote was the headline of a friend’s funeral program. He made sure the brunt of the crash went to him, hoping to save the others. Then one who survived without injury, risked everything to save the very man who just saved him.
These are the men we must admire and teach our children about. These two happened to be friends of mine. There are many more every day who do awesome things such as this.
Again, God speed young man. May the reward of your selflessness be one of love, kindness, and peace.

About 50 years ago when I was still going to school my main source of income was catching snakes and supplying them to Commonwealth Serum Laboratories to make anti-venene, over a few years I developed a natural immunity to the most common snakes. My mother eventually shut me down when she discovered the Anschutz .22 and the 12g shotgun that I had bought with the proceeds. Not too long after that I joined the military, a chapter of my life that lasted almost 27 years.

I was gonna say those are some bad ass ratchet straps!
As a kid, I used to catch rattlesnakes, moccasins, etc for Camp Darby on Ft Benning. Quit Boyscouts when they wouldn't let me keep venomous snakes for my reptile merit badge. Not sure what my parents were thinking and they'd probably go to jail these days. Never bit but in hindsight, it was pretty stupid.
What's been seen can never be unseen. But makes for a great wedding picture??
