FYI. I puchased some MDT .223 mags that were modified for .224 Valkyrie. You can't move the mag release forward enough with the Bravo stock due to the ribs on the back of the magazine. I ended up removing both ribs on the back but had to pull my action to get the mag out to begin with.

My dad has a .223 remington 700 barreled action in a Bravo chassis using MDT 223 magazines without issue. I use the same ones in my MPA chassis as well.

I use MDT plastic 223 magazines in a Howa 1500 in a KRG 180-Xray chassis and they worked flawlessly from day one without a single adjustment.

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I have the one trick pony. Here's an Alpha snd then the MDT.

Were it I, I'd go with the metal .223 mags. Just a cleaner, longer lasting solution IMHO. I like MDT, and the stuff they make, but poly mags in a precision rifle makes me squirm. Yes the metal mags cost more, but things like this show that in most cases, if you want a "AICS" compatible .223 mag, it pays to have the same dimensions, the full length.

JMTCW...and good luck on finding a resolution (I'm sure Josh at MDT and Justin at KRG will respond).

OP, did you try adjusting the forend of the Bravo? It looks like the fore and aft pieces are butted against one another fairly tight one yours.

As per step 7 of the Bravo instruction manual:

Step 7: Insert a magazine to test for fit, the forend can be moved forward or backward a small amount to adjust the magazine
fit.Additionally, the trigger guard can be moved a small amount as well if necessary, this will require removal of the
barreled action. Due to the magazine design of the AICS magazine and the magwell of the Bravo, it may be possible to put
pressure on the mag and push it up against the bolt. For this reason we do not recommend resting the gun on the magazine
when firing. ***Ignore this step for T1x.

    Edit:

Looks like you have a Nuke action, I have one in a Bravo as well and am running it with a ~.017" gap between the front and rear. Just tried the 223 polymer mags on it and they slide in and out with no issues. My Tikka T3 Varmint 223 has a larger gap (didn't measure, but can see it visually) and it runs MDT 223 polymer mags no problem.

As already posted, looks like you need to slide your forend forward. I’m running poly mdt 223 mags in my bravo/tikka 223AI. They have performed flawlessly.

I guess my experience has been the opposite. While metal mags can have issues too, they usually can be fixed/tweaked, and once done, tend to never show issues again.

With the poly mags, I've seen several shooters contend that they are just as good, and then after a period of time, have them wear and start giving problems. Do they work? Certainly. It's the longevity as well as their performance in high heat, dirty and dusty situations that make me squirm. IME they just don't hold up as well (which makes sense, they're like half the cost of a metal mag).

<shrug> I suppose it's a personal preference thing as well.

Yes and no. I added the spigot mount to the Bravo so yes. It doesn't really fit the skin well at the forend. i can't remember exactly at this point but it made me think that it probably fit better on the Whiskey than the Bravo.

That may be what's forcing it rearward. I didn't notice and hadn't tried the mags before as the Nucleus had a different barrel and bolt head before all this occurred as well.

The MDT mag drops free better than the Alpha and fed flawlessly yesterday. Can't believe I got caught by a read the instructions, or in IT terms, RTFM, lol. The how-to for the spigot is only one page.

OP try to adjust your skins. My KRG did this exact thing to me and adjusting the skins fixed it
