Anyone in the eastern panhandle area of West virginia? Looking for some shooting buddies and possibly someone to mentor me in long range shooting as im pretty new at it. Looking forward to some new friends. Most peoples eyes glaze over when i try to talk guns in detail.

peacemaker (www.peacemakernational.com) above winchester and below hagerstown does a fun belly match (long range challenge, link above) most months, out to 1k+. great opportunity to get dope for your rifle. they also host 'frontier days' on that same range most months, just an informal practice day. hit one or both of those and most if not everyone on your squad will be more than happy to answer any questions, let you play with their guns and gear, etc. then of course they host prs and gas gun matches from time to time. don't have to be a member for any of these.

Damn, I wish I knew about frontier Sunday sooner; July 14 registration is closed due to max capacity. Got my membership this year, great range.
Another is on 9/8. There is a long range challenge Match 8/3. These are also on frontier and a lot of fun.
I'm sign up for the LRC on 8/3, was hoping to get some practice in and confirm dope before then.
I'm in loudon myself (about as far west as loudon goes). I wish something was closer, but PNTC isn't too far.
Can't be too far from me. I live southwest of Lovettsville, and just a little north of Hillsboro. Was out shooting at Peacemaker on Friday.
Yeah, it would be nice if something was closer but if you want to be able to shoot over 400 yards, PNTC is pretty much the best option.

I havent been out to PNTC in awhile (I am still a memeber though).. On their public range (that one that was 100,200,300), they used to have a little steal to ping, do they still have some out there?
Peacemaker is very good. I wish they'd have more 500 yard days, and that the 1000 yard line was not just steel.
340 defense has 20 yard, 50 yard, 100, and 300. Individual membership is steep, but corporate is pretty reasonable at $100/year.
I do a lot of load workups at 340 since they have paper out to 300, use the tactical bays at Peacemaker for carbine and pistol, and try to get out there once per month for the 500 yard line. There are some ranges around Martinsburg and Inwood too, but nothing long. I am surprised that there isn't anything in western Loudoun but I have not heard of anything there

I live in Winchester/Work in Martinsburg and shoot at Peacemaker sometimes. Have done a few of the NRA American Rifle Challenge matches there (super fun competitive carbine match). My buddy just got me into long range recently. Was planning on shooting the long range club match that was supposed to be this past Saturday (4/4/2020) but it go postponed due to the kung flu. I have a private piece near Winchester where we can get out to 700 yards pretty easily (we are working on getting a spot on that property where we can go out to 1,000, but we gotta do some range finding to see if its actually feasible).
