I know the best would be to neck turn virgin brass but please help me to remember .., do I need to do full sizing of virgin brass or just to run expending mandrel few times on unsized virgin brass ? Which is the correct way ?With Winchester 243 brass about a thou and a half will get you 80% to a full cut on the older stuff.
New is almost 2 thou.
I am interested. Can somebody post what are the typical brass neck thickness of Lapua and Hornady? Is premium brass are thicker? I don't have tools to measure accurately and the reason for this post. Thks.

Looks like it is just a recess that contains the brass while spinning.Anyone know what the device in the tailstock is on the Youtube video? Thanks

Could be, there were some spring loaded case holders out there.Looks like he twists it after turning the neck to grab the case.
