thx, though its pretty far from Dayton/cincinati area. about 3hr drive.

seem the only one is thunder valley, which is about 3 hr too. was hoping within an hr drive near dayt/cincinati
sorry to hear that do you know if your state and a bureau of land management ? maybe there is blm land in your state you could shoot on or farm land you could rent space or ground hog hunt for a farmer . good luck either way.

Rayners has a nice setup. If he still does it he as long range comps every month or every few months. I miss being able to go there. It is about 2.5-3 hours from Dayton but it was worth the drive when I lived there. Shot at Thunder Ranch as well once or twice. He used to have a target set up at a mile.
I believe Miami Valley(Dayton) closed when Dana died a couple of years ago but he had a decent 100 yard outdoor 50 yard indoor setup. Also did a weekly steel comp, trap match, GSSF matches and Ruger Rimfire events. Not sure if they are still open though.

Apologize for multiple posts but I believe Camp Sherman Joint Training Center in Chillicothe used to do some matches as well.
Define near. If you mean within 90 mins of Dayton, Miami Rifle & Pistol Club is the only one that has a range at least that long.
However, MRPC is not open to the public except on organized shoot days. The rifle range is strictly for shooting on paper targets, it's an NRA style range with target carriers in a pit. NO STEEL.
The next closest ones are Thunder Valley and Rayner's Range both at least 2.5 hrs away.
Every single post above mine is pretty much wrong. There's nothing in Chillicothe, Miami Valley Shooting Grounds no longer has a rifle range, and I don't consider anything 3+ hrs away (Southington) as "close".
