I might have missed a memo, but it both looked like the other officer got hit, as well as the radio call stated "officer hit" at the end of the video. His partner is EXTREMELY lucky he wasn't hit! The Cop that shot the kid will probably get a commendation...
Google is your friend Jerry
officers responding to a call of a “psychiatric problem.”
They'er Quality training paid off I see,...who the fuck is training these people???

ah so they execute him because he had psych problems.
Never ever call the cops, ever.

Laughing, ya sure,...My observation would be relevant. I already am.
Lastly, in almost all circumstances, cops ARE under the same laws regarding the use of deadly force as citizens are. Read up on the laws and Supreme Court rulings and you’ll find that’s true.
Tactics... yeah, flame away ? a couple of poor choices there.
QuickNDirty,
If you spend some time researching actual cases (not just the ones the agenda driven media cherry picks for you) of both citizen and LEO shootings, you’ll find that in almost all cases the laws they operate under and are tried by are the same.
Do lots of cops get cleared? Yeah. That’s because they almost always get it right from a legal standpoint.
Do lots of citizens get cleared? Yeah. The ones that get cleared get cleared for the same reason based on the same laws.
Do some cops screw up and still not get charged? Absolutely. And so do regular citizens. Just like with any other crime, meeting the burden of proof is not always possible. That has nothing to do with cops or citizens, it’s just the law.
Pull your head out of your ass (a couple of you). Frank already warned that needless anti cop sentiment won’t be tolerated.
Cops are the ones sent to check on people like this SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE people like this are so unpredictable and can turn violent in an instant. What if it had been just the neighbor checking on him or an unarmed social worker and he came out shooting? Go ahead, send your wife or mother to check on a few of these guys... I’ll wait.
Saying the guy just answered the door with a paintball gun is both dishonest and stupid. That’s not what happened. He deliberately and intentionally pointed it in a manner consistent with an imminent intent to kill someone. I’m not sure even after replaying it what his gun was and nobody should be expected to figure that out under those circumstances. If you ever have to defend your life you won’t want some idiot with a grudge saying that the guy who shoved a gun in your face was, “just standing there holding it”... Technically true... Deliberately evil to describe it that way.

Did some more perusal into the case. The lady in the yellow shirt is a mental health social worker sent to do a wellness check on the resident. So it seems like he had been on a psychotic fit. That would explain the paintball gun...
Some normal person answering the door with a fucking disassembled paintball gun in hand just seems... wrong, from any conceivable angle. If there is a real and legitimate threat outside, what good is that thing gonna do for you? And if your plan was to scare some poor traveling salesman away from your door, well that's one great way to commit suicide by SWAT team. And finally, if shit is so sketchy outside that you must have a weapon in your hand while answering the door, how about DO NOT open the fucking door in the first place? Stand back and verbally assess the situation.

It's split second decisions where you will always revent to your lowest level of training. The door way setup was wrong from the get go, that in an of it's self screams lack of training, for all, an most especially the guy in charge. It's always easy to make split second decisions when sitting behind a keyboard.
To be clear, that is correct and the only thing they could've done to make the situation worse was invite a girl scout troop to knock on the door with them. It's split second decisions where you will always revent to your lowest level of training. QuickNDirty,
In another context I’d agree with every word of your last post.
The rich and politically connected are often above the law, and I agree that the future of this country doesn’t look great.
It's always easy to make split second decisions when sitting behind a keyboard.
Maybe someone was fucking with him, but this time when he opened the door it was the cops fucking with him?
There's an awful lot of animus in this thread. Letting a psychotic alone would be irresponsible, and probably legally indefensible. I know that it's hard for some of you to accept, but not all policing is a waste of taxpayers' money.
Maybe they should have left him alone.
It's my experience that there are some who simply hate ALL law enforcement because of the reprehensible actions of a few. The "few" should answer for their fuck ups and take what they deserve. Don't paint all LEO's with the same brush and don't tell me someone comes out of a door with something that looks like a lethal weapon and you're going to wait there to find out if it really is.There's an awful lot of animus in this thread. There's always going to be bad cops just like there'll always be bad anything in any profession but don't write off the rest.
Your approach to the language reminds me of the statisticians.
Two statisticians go bird hunting. The first one fires at the bird but overshoots by 5 feet. The second one fires and undershoots the bird by 5 feet. They both give each other a high-five and say "Got it!"
