Suppressors Cost to transfer a can to dealer?

I visited my lgs yesterday that does most of the class 3 stuff in my area and asked about ordering a GA Precision Jager. They said they charge $75 for a transfer. Is that typical for a suppressor transfer?

I haven’t had a suppressor sent to another dealer before so I wasn’t sure. Normally gun transfers run me $20-40.

Paid anywhere from 25 in Georgia to 100 in Ohio. Current rate at only Class 3 shop in small town NC is 100. Hopefully soon getting my SOT and that will mean 0 except for yearly permit fee.

Are they charging you for the form 3 or the form 4? My place is charging $75 for the form 4, but I haven't heard of anyone charging for a form 3 transfer...

I believe this is only if the can is bought elsewhere. If you buy the suppressor from them they don’t charge you for filling out the forms.

$75 at two local dealers here. I support my local dealers as much as possible but on the occasion of something unique or a super great deal on something they don't have in stock, I've done transfers. As above $0 if buying from them but you do pay sales tax.

That’s likely the distinction. If they’re making no money on it but have to do the form 4 and babysit it for a year. Makes sense they would charge a fee.

Here in MN I was quoted $75 the last time I asked. They were class 3 but did not sell them, only did transfers.

$50 - $100 has been the going rate for a class 3 transfer for a while.. i would say closer to $100. just depends in how much the value there time to fill out the forms and space in there safe for a year..

That is for a can you did not buy from them becase they made no money.... if they are charging that for a can you bought from them that is kind of BS unless they are selling it to you for cost or under that..
