Top photo is a pic of my dad during Vietnam in his AC-119 Gunship.

Bottom photo is the same plane after they crashed returning after a mission when they ran out of fuel trying to get back to the runway. Everyone survived (10 men) and my dad saved a life and received the Airmans Medal for it.
