Let her take responsibility for her own actions just recommend someone to her.... unless she is relatively young
I would not have thought a Ford Fiesta could do a 100 and not shake itself to pieces.
Thanks I will pass it on to her. I told her she needed to expect some serious consequences despite having a lawyer.Thats more than 20 over and will likely go as Reckless, more serious than simple speeding. a quick Google search brought up this on Yelp. I like the looks of 'The Lawrence Law Firm, #3 on their list.

I take it you've never driven in Europe, particularly in Germany......
PS the Ford Fiesta is a European car. By that I mean designed and engineered by Ford of Europe.

I have fond memories of finding the speed limiter of various rental cars on the trip between Minden and Ingolstadt.
Yup, here it's drive it like you stole it, in Germany it's drive it like you rented it. Pedal to the metal is just another form of cruise control. But you will be surprised how curvy the Autobahn gets at these speeds.I have fond memories of finding the speed limiter of various rental cars on the trip between Minden and Ingolstadt.
Having lived in VA for 20 years before fleeing, traffic enforcement there is 100% about revenue generation. Nothing at all to do with "safety".
Typically, the court is mostly interested in collecting the fine. Especially if not a habitual offender. A lawyer may be able to plead her case and offer to pay the fine and court costs immediately in exchange for a reduced charge. Possibly one that does not carry any points. Has worked for friends of mine before.
^^^^^^^
Im what you might call an expert on this. LOL
Talk to the DA, he or she can reduce the infraction to anything but the judge has to approve it.
Your record is everything.

There's nothing irresponsible, prima facie, about driving 100 mph on a freeway. Why are we considering trying to get an obviously not responsible enough driver off the hook?
The irresponsible thing is going blatantly over the posted limit. I could give two shits about going 100+, most have been there more than once. Ever lived on post? Zero tolerance. Speed limit is the limit. If you want to coddle your kids when they mess up, giver hell. There's nothing irresponsible, prima facie, about driving 100 mph on a freeway.
If that were the case, there would be carnage on the freeways of Germany. But the Autobahn's fatality rate is almost always lower than that of the US Interstate system.
I don't give a fuck about laws that exist solely to entrap people and extort money from them. The irresponsible thing is going blatantly over the posted limit. We pay for our vehicle, we pay tax for the fuel and tax for the roads, there shouldn’t be a law stating we can only drive this fast.
We need laws posting the amounts of laws congress can vote in. 1:1 ratio, 1 law repealed or for 1 law voted, or 1 hand cut off per law signed. Your only getting to sign two...
Radar detectors are outlawed too, even though I ran one every day. Saved my ass dozens of times.
Do you think the posted speed limit is solely there to extort money?I don't give a fuck about laws that exist solely to entrap people and extort money from them.
NOT ONE SINGLE FUCK
Do you think the posted speed limit is solely there to extort money?
I've done that to all my cars except the Dodge Dakota I owned. IME 4WD trucks get scary loose above 90 mph.
All but the Accord where thrust = drag. The Accord has more in it but I need to disable the limiter......Hondata here I come.
- 1986 Porsche 944: 135
- 1989 VW Golf GTI 16V: 122
- 2010 Honda Fit: 115
- 2019 Honda Accord Sport (1.5 liter turbo): 129
Really, you got 135 out of your 944? Impressive assuming it was an "N/A" model!! I had an 85.5 model (aka same dash and suspension as your 86) and I think it may have seen 125-130 tops at Roebling Road one year. I wanted one track weekend on it instead of the real track beast. Way back in the day.

So 60mph in front of an elementary school is all good, or through a densely house neighborhood.
Did you miss the part about wtf we are doing bailing kids out for doing stupid shit?

My Focus does 150, the ST version of both cars are super fun to drive.
