Anyone run one? Is the recoil that much worse?

I could deal with a little more recoil if it gets rid of the concussion grenade that goes off every time I pull the trigger

Long shot but has anyone suppressed a Serbu semi auto? They are gas operated would have to make a AGB for it.

There had been a 50 cal suppressor in the PX within the last week.

Unless the barrel moves, you shouldn't need a Nielsen device / booster.

A call or email to Serbu would likely be helpful.

Call Mark Serbu. I believe he has done it. Look up his number on his website. Last time we called he personally picked up the phone and answered our questions.

As to the recoil. I have fired a Barret M99 with muzzle brake and with suppressor. My brother owns the gun and suppressor and we have fired it quite a bit. I am 50/50 on wether the recoil or the concussion is worse. The suppressor does a great job and the shot sound is quite pleasant. The recoil with the suppressor scooted my whole body backwards on the shooting mat in a prone position. It isn't a painful sharp smack like shooting a really light weight magnum. It is more of a really long hard push with lots of mass behind the push. The push moves you a lot and makes spotting your own impacts hard unless you are shooting at extreme distance and have time to get back on target.

The Serbu is known to have very little recoil because of how the gas system works. It might be just the ticket for a suppressed 50 Cal. It also doesn't have to have the barrel reciprocate like a Barret so the suppressor mass on the muzzle shouldn't affect function. If you do it make sure to post a video on here!

A lot of it will depend on the can. I built a couple cans for the Desert Tech HTI for some friends. Recoil with the can is noticably less than with the brake. A friend has a bolt action 50 rifle that I don't want to shoot at all with the brake but my can on it tames it down well. Running an Elite iron can though is painful. Its the first time I've ever been scoped shooting that rifle with the EI can. I shoot a lot of high recoil stuff but a McMillan with an elite iron 50 can is not one I'll shoot again. There are some other good cans our there and it does make shooting the 50 a lot more pleasant when you're not being blasted by the noise. Before you buy you should shoot whatever you're looking at.

I also have an AX50. I agree with Hoser that the recoil increase in considerable when using the Cyclops and tends to limit the amount of rounds I put down range with it. The Cyclops can be an expensive paper weight.......

I've seen the NFA Review channel's review of the AWCs Tubrodyne on a AR-50. Since I have an AR-50 I am interested in that. Anyone have experience with that can? I have no problem with the recoil with the muzzle brake on the AR-50 but the concussion and blast is what I want to get rid of. If recoil is increased with a can I understand that but I want to be able to shoot more than 10 rounds before calling it quits.
