Two guys locked down a huge area,... an changed gun fight thinking for ever,...

Any serious gunnie who don't know about this gunfight ain't a serious gunnie...

Seriously though, this one as well as the Miami FBI shootout of 1986 are the contemporary equivalents of the OK Corral gunfight or the James-Younger Gang Northfield Bank Robbery of 1876 and equally notorious and infamous.

This was actually the main impetus that drove almost all law enforcement agencies across the US into adopting semiautomatic weaponry into their arsenals. Many departments immediately started acquiring AR-15s after 1986 and any that have not done so after 1997 have found their last call for all aboard.

yes....and if those two would have had an actual extraction plan.....they’d have escaped. they figured pure firepower would do the trick. and it might....if you had a lot more than 2 guys.
They did not bring "Real fire power" or tactics with them ,...however I would bet at some point down the road some inter-prizing group will. Even though bankers steal more per hour with a pin,...

Enterprising.... (RIP Veer, keeping up the standards)

A “pin” is something that sticks to your dry cleaning.
A “PEN” Is what a banker uses when he signs his high-interest “gotcha” loan papers.
(Don’t know who Veer was, but suspect he fixed those who were grammatically challenged) 🤪
Veer was a longtime and highly valued member here who recently passed.

Yes, he did correct the grammatically challenged and had a vast vocabulary as well.

It is a dirty job, but someone needs to do it. Too much dependence on auto-correct is not a good thing. Makes us appear sloppy😪
Sloppy is good for many things, all of,... witch,... can be found here,... however quality bait, is everything. People who have issue with none perfect grammar, have larger issue's lurking,... for if it was a spelling/grammar contest/site the site Addy would reflect same.

I remember it well. I remember thinking I've never seen the cops have their asses handed to them in such a manner.

I also found it ironic that the cops had to run to a local gun shop and beg them for all the AR15's and 5.56 ammo they had since they didn't carry AR's at that time. The same evil guns that they then used against these two to help kill them.

I still think a 12 gauge slug to the nogin would have knocked them out

meh.....you aint telling me anything i am not already aware of. when i said “pure firepower” , it was in relation to what the cops were carrying....not what i consider heavily armed. moving on.....

And then later the law came back and charged the gunshop owners for illegally distributing weapons. For real.

Everybody knows about that.

But what about Hilltop, Tacoma, 1980's, Homeboys vs. US Army Rangers?

Fucking cops showed up... And backed out until it was over. Didn't want none. THAT was the big change I understand.

FWIW, the homeboys couldn't hit shit, and the Rangers just suppressed 'em until they didn't want no more. Apparently it all happened because the homeboys didn't like the PSG having his guys over for a BBQ. They pulled their ghetto blasters, he opened his safe up. I'd have given anything to see that.

Veer was the cunning linguist... And you missed the double entendre friend. Pin, as in PIN, the number they steal in order to steal your numbers.

My buddy showed me an article on "epistemic viciousness" and I immediately thought of him. Man this site just ain't the same.
