I'm looking for some options for a new rail/handguard. Something along the lines of this SLR. I'm wanting an integral rail at the 6 o'clock on the forward end to hook my atlas to. I'd like as much of the rest as possible to be smooth/mlok to avoid grating my hands and keep the weight down.

The SLR is definitely a possibility, just looking for other options so I can shop.

I have used 15" Geissele Mk4 and 15" YHM Todd Jarrett rails that both fit the bill. The Giessele is a little lighter, but the YHM is less expensive and the round shape is very comfortable in hand. They have full top rails, but the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions only have rails at the end. While the YHM is a bit on the heavy side, it works well for a bench gun. The YHM rail isn't being used right now, but if it sits around any longer, it might spontaneously turn into a new rifle build. Maybe it should find a new home before it gets me in trouble with the wife...

I found the mk4 a little while after I posted this thread. It looks like a good option as well. Thanks for the heads up on the others.

Part of the reason I'm wanting a whole new handguard is because my gas block is just so damn close to the guard that I think it contacts when loading bipod or my barrel gets to whipping. Using a MI slim right now that is I think 1.3" internal so something a bit bigger would be nice.

Looks like the YHM would leave plenty of room.

I’ve used the Franklin Armory FSR with good results.
Getting the barrel nut lined up just right can be tedious though.

Know what the inside diameter is on these?
I'm using a clamp on superlative arms AGB.

I shot the rifle I'm looking at swapping rails on again last night and im now sure the gas block and rail have some interference. One of the problems I'm running into now is that damn near all of the rails listed so far, minus the YHM, are 1.3"ish ID so they probably won't be any better. I'm open to any additional ideas.

I've also expanded my search into some ARCA integrated hand guards. Giessele makes one, small ID though. Sgt of arms and fast track make them too, so I'm waiting to hear back about ID" numbers on those.
