Yeah it is a 308 conversion and has all the cartridge stops in place. The shiny silver part is a trunnion guard to help reduce wear and tear

New XP-100 .223 stock is ready to test fire before finishing. Way more fitting work than I expected including having to fabricate/install a new rear take down pillar. Just need to slap a bipod on it and go to the range.

I use a contender .223 ina 14 “ hunter barrel. Jack rabbits, coyotes, and prairie dogs. Also a14 inch in 30/30. For deer.

Shot a 100-200yd match with a member that was shooting 14" Contender in .221 Fireball on Sunday...... sub MOA at 200. with a 2-8 Leupold pistol scope.
This is a .223 Varminter a friend purchased new in '86 and has 200-250 rounds through it. Excellent condition and the OEM trigger is a clean 1bl 6ozs from the factory.
The stock is ambidextrous, I bought it so I could mount a bipod as I didn't want to alter the OEM nylon stock that is in 95%+ condition.
I installed a 'spare' 4-12 Leupold VX-II fine duplex on a new EGW base with Warne 501M rings on it. Usage will be target shooting and Oregon sage rat vaporization. Hoping it likes the Berger 52g Flat Base Varmint bullet.

I remember going to the parts store and wanting a gasket set for a Pontiac 400, no not a chevy, no you don't need to know if it is a big or small block, all PONTIAC are the same. Idiot tries to give me a gasket set for a small block chevy 400. I had to bring them the valve cover gasket for the engine. Oh you do have a Pontiac. Times like this made you hate small towns with one parts store.
I was told by a guy once that I could make a small fortune with a car like that. I said how's that? He said start with a large one.
This is true as well, after you decide you want something different get ready for a dime on the dollar return, unless you find someone wanting to do the same thing as you, and this does not happen very often. I have sold entire cars for under what the valve train costs.
I currently have my road race car sitting in a trailer, broken back has taken me away from racing and of the 3 other idiots in the US that run the same car, they are all old guys and really not interested in a car that has a $4000 crankshaft....yup you read that correctly.
