We had a ferret when I was a kid. We had the scent glands removed but it still reeked. Cool animal that had a ton of personality.
You are right about that definitely. Otters are indeed part of the Mustelidae family, which encompasses weasels, badgers, and ferrets. They all share the characteristic of musk glands that are used to mark territory or for mating...
My daughter had a ferret once. Within 30-40 minutes it went down a AC vent and never was seen again .... she didn’t tell me , didn’t take long to find it by smell
