I think you're really being insensitive to our special needs community... Many of which are right here on snipers hide. Where I like to think of myself not only as a member but a caregiver as well
I've been here 10 years. Valdada has had the same rap at least that long. A long storied history of shitting the bed. No matter how nice Val is to you there is a much higher percentage chance that it will fail and in the most obnoxious manner than other quality scopes at and below the price range. Don't do it. I took one as part of a trade some years back....3x18. Nice glass and good reticle. Figured what the hell I'll put it on a .223 that needs some glass. In 6 months it wouldn't come close to passing a box test. Erectors are crap and have been for years.
The simple answer is that you must like playing the catcher portion of hide the salami if you knowingly buy a scope (even if it is the bestest ever) with full knowledge that you might as well pleasure yourself with that 40mm tube because you're going to receive ZERO customer service from that strap on wearing buddy of yours..... Who knows, with any luck he'll toss in a handful of sand to make it hurt so good.

I have no clue what kind of customer service they have. But neither do you. I don't plan on buying this scope as I have said quite a few times in this thread, that is unless I can get one for a very good deal.

Why do you think Valdada went to Japan to build the scope? Because they could not do it and they know that no one that really needs a scope would buy one from them. You say they are a good scope so name a major military or LE that uses them.

We are talking about Valdada. The DOD just awarded Nightforce a contract for the Marines and Leupold was award to the Army new sniper rifles. As for Vortex several of my Marine Buddys purchased them on their own and took to the sand box.

I'm quite aware that Nightforce supplies the military with Optics that wasn't the question was it? The guy stated that Valdada Recons are made in Japan because" no one could do it and no one would buy it " I just stated that a lot of Nightforce parts and higher-end Vortex scopes are made in Japan. As far as guys buying their own equipment to go overseas what's that got to do with anything? I did four tours in Iraq and Afghanistan then another 2 years at the US Embassy in Baghdad and I never once saw a marine carrying anything but an Acog or some other similar site all government issue. And never ever a vortex I'm not saying it they weren't out there I'm just saying I never saw it.
