The scope is over priced and nothing special they did nothing different - I just refuse to talk about assholes like people who speak IOR in any context t but the negative as they deserve

I won’t even take a picture or video around one, until they break which never takes long.

If you want to limit the conversation to “this scope”, what makes this LOW menu item worth twice what very similar products cost? @lowlight just pointed out something extra that Vortex does to ensure they provide a great product to their customer. And yet, the Gen 2 Razor sells for well below “cost” of the Valdada. What extra steps and expenses does Valdada use?

You are questioning people for condemning the scope based upon the HORRIBLE track record and HORRIBLE customer service. I was here for it, it was brutal, guys getting scopes back that weren’t even theirs and were still broken. Yet based on 40 rounds you are willing to proclaim it equal to or greater than S&B. This Thread has become a runaway train. And I understand people for not reading all the way back because it's stupid long. But all I said was that I went to the range and shot a valdada Recon G2 and I gave a few impressions. I did not say I was going to buy one unless it was almost giveaway. I didn't say anybody else should go buy it I just said it was a better than decent scope

Now it looks like Val and I will be getting married in California of course, and getting a shitzu and three cats and shopping at Ikea. I swear to God this thread is like a funhouse mirror

Okay again I'm not saying that the G2 is the best scope in the world at all. But in the same tone I'm not saying they're horrible either and I can tell you this because I actually shot with the one I didn't read about it I didn't watch a video I actually sat my ass behind the glass and pulled the trigger 40 X. So I can back up what I said about them.
So I'm calling you out I want an exact example of you seen personally a G2 fail, track poorly, break. Be a man and don't deflect or try to change the the subject just answer those questions. Now you're probably going to pull out of review it says the G2 only tracked 94% but the picture that goes with the semi review is not even a G2.
Again I have nothing to do with this scope or manufacturer I don't own one I don't really care to tell you the truth. But I do know that there's absolutely been no open-mindedness on this site.

That isn’t “all” you said. Don’t say whoa in a mud hole, keep banging your drum. Explain to us why this a Tier 1 scope, comparable to S&B. Explain why it costs so much more than similarly specd products from the same factory. Hint- I wouldn’t cite customer service.

They are a barely used I have been around 5 of them, total

saying show me the stats is a red herring they aren’t used enough to register on any scale

there is no track record for that model - however I can show you dozens of issues with the Company- cherry picking a single issue is fucking stupid, if I only saw one or two or a specific brand and neither had issue doesn’t make it worthy of consideration

You do realize Vortex and the Gen 2 is not a true LOW product,

They swap out the turret system in the US and replace the parts installed in Japan

Its cheaper to bring a scope than individual parts

the turrets are upgraded to a system not turned over to LOW so it’s not sold to other companies as an OEM product

vortex has their own R&D and manufacturing just not on a large scale.

You know you guys are right if they were asking $3,000 Plus for this scope I would say it is absolutely over priced. But I don't think hardly anybody plays retail these days. So let's say it's $2,000 that puts it with the vortex Razor HD is it as good as that? ( which is a very good scope) I think so but it's hard to beat those vortex dials.
Look am I going to get rid of my S&B? Or my Nightforce or my Mark 8 for this thing no way but if I could find one that's $1,000 I might consider using it for ELR 22LR shooting it does have a ton of elevation adjustment.

What amazes me is when guys like him come on here, asking the questions that they do, then start fighting back when they get responses of pretty much universal condemnation of a product. They act like it's some kind of a "Grand Conspiracy" that we've all gotten together with the intent to do unjustified harm to said manufacturer.

As opposed to the simple explanation that the product, the customer service and the company are simply sub standard. It's like anything else. I buy product based on reputation and value. I have number of Alpha Class Scopes that I have bought from Hide Commercial Supporters. Not one problem with any of the scopes and no need for Customer Service.
edit; Actually, now that I think about it, I did need C/S from a Hide Vendor in Sacramento on an Alpha scope. Without going into details, they bent over backwards and exceeded my expectations of what I thought they would do to solve the problem of the manufacturer, not of the Vendor.
With experiences like I've had, I'd be insane to consider purchasing a product with such a spotty reputation.

The funny part about buying an OEM scope,

you can spend $25 a piece or $300+, and there is a whole lot in between, quality can be bought or money can be saved, who knows what the OEM price is,

fortunately not enough on the street to sweat it because people are generally pretty smart, especially when it’s written on the wall in neon paint

This is a long thread, so for people new to it, I am going to quote my own post from way in the beginning.

Light Optics Works has a house design that they offer to their customers. A bunch of 4.5-30x56, 4.5-29x56 and 5-30x56 scopes made by LOW for a variety of brands are versions of that design that they offer to their customers. It is a good design and most of these customers use essentially the same scope with some cosmetic differences and also some differences in levels of QC, etc. A couple use minor variation in the optical system. One (that I know of) has a significantly re-worked optical system (no, not Recon G2).

I'm not quite following you on that one.

Valdada is a US based importer. He buys shit from overseas, and resells it in the US.

IOR is a Romanian optics manufacturer. LOW is a Japanese scope manufacturer.
Valdada, IOR and LOW are 3 seperate entities, each on a different continent.

LOW doesn't make scopes for IOR.

Valdada buys stuff from various companies, including IOR and LOW, amongst others and re-sells it in the US.
