Yes, weight is an issue. It’s for my daughter to shoot (sometimes) and she is very small. Always been an issue for her, the trade off off weight/strength and recoil management. She doesn’t mind recoil very much, which makes it easier.Do you need the weight savings? On a competition rifle, I'd rather have the weight. On a hunting rifle, I'd only want one out west or elsewhere where I need to hike like a frontiersman just to get to where I need to be. And even then, a Tikka Ultralite will be fine. Only need to shoot once or twice in a row so barrel heat issues really isn't a thing when hunting, unless you're committing piggy murder.
