More specifically, how do I remove it? Or do folks leave it on?

It’s the sticker with apparently a quality control inspector’s name on it. It seems pretty well stuck, but I’d like to take it off. I just don’t want to end up with a gooey mess of residual adhesive.

Thanks!

Didnt see that particular sticker but it’s 50/50

if you plan on selling it than leaving it on might be worth a few bucks.

most of them are on crooked so ocd guys like me can’t deal.

if it’s a field gun than it ripped up soon.

scope coatings are hard core get some glue remover and clean the residue

personally I spray paint my rifle so the sticker is junk in 2 seconds.

Understand about the OCD! But it is CDO, alphabetical, like it should be dammit!

I’ll probably do as you suggest, rip it off and use something to lift the adhesive.

Take your sticker off. It’s a sticker stuck to aluminum. If you have residue, which I haven’t experienced on mine, just get an alcohol pad and wipe it off lol.

It doesn’t help with resale...and if a buyer low balls you because of a stupid pre-shipment QC sticker, odds are he’s going to back out of the deal anyways “because of his wife” lol

You are being given bad advice. DO NOT remove it ! You will be arrested as surely as if you removed the tag from your mattress. You were smart enough to not remove the tag from your mattress, weren’t you ?

Got it off. It delaminated first, with the shiny part coming off leaving the papery under layer. Then the lower part up in little pieces as I scraped with my AmEx card. The residue was pretty tenacious, but a little acetone did the trick, and have me a mild contact buzz.

I had figured that it would simply peel off as mentioned above, that it started to come apart was what gave me pause.

You know what helps for resale is to keep it in the box unopened that way you only lose 15% to 20% of what you paid for it. Rip the sticker off like a band aid or else you'll look like the guy driving his car with the window sticker still on it after 3 years.

This. It's like a girlfriend you won't f8ck cause you want to keep her fresh for the next guy.

Surprised you didn't scratch the scope with the metal on metal scraper.

Unless you are some kind of poor with a plastic AMEX?

Yup. Guilty as charged! I’m a poor who is a wannabe AmEx Black guy but stuck with a lowly Delta Sky Miles card, lol.

She could afford one of the fancy ones, but, well, I’m a cop!
