    Recommendations for Ruger 10/22 gunsmith

+1 for CPC. Old school. Randy has worked on a couple of rifles for me. Went full stupid on one and had him thread a barrel into a receiver and delete the V block as well. Top notch work and prices are excellent-Norcal911

    What's ya'll's opinion of this 10/22 setup?

Yessir EotS, now I see it. It is NOT discontinued and that's for sure the one I had (maybe have?). Looks like a dead ringer for the one you posted above. It was a solid mount for me

    What's ya'll's opinion of this 10/22 setup?

I did a little more computer searching....pretty sure it was actually a Power Custom piece. Shows to be discontinued. I guess maybe it wasn't a good idea?

    What's ya'll's opinion of this 10/22 setup?

I used to have one of those, might even have the mount laying around somewhere. Worked great. Had a gunsmith drill/tap the barrel. After that, I bedded the mount and it proved to be a good mount and an accurate rifle. I can't remember the manufacturer, Weigand rings a bell, but I'm not positive...

Rifle Scopes Compact scope for Ruger Scout rifle

I went ADM 1316. Actually did a ton of measuring and research to get it just high enough to clear my irons but still be QD. Not sure why but I wanted to have my irons available with little effort. It worked out, but like I said, my eyes are getting old and I'm thinking a bit more magnification...

Rifle Scopes Compact scope for Ruger Scout rifle

I have the same rail and have not had problem with the bolt handle hitting my Athlon Cronus 1-6. It's been an excellent general purpose rifle set up. Doesn't do anything really well, but can do almost anything reasonable that you ask of it. That being said, as my eyes get old, I'm probably going...

Anyone ever make a 80% or scratch made 10/22?

If you are trying to save money by doing an 80% its not really worth it anymore. If you have a mill or access to a mill, you can do an 80% far more precisely than a Ruger. I don't think the jig and cheap drill bits are going to get you there but if you drill and then do a fimal ream on the holes...

    Gunsmithing "Custom" scope rail

There's no doubt this is a bad idea. I'm more interested in "can" I, not "should" I. Its also exactly the reason i brought it up here. I was thinking more about the lack of squareness of the slots to the actual rail, didn't even think about the clamping surface. Thanks for thinking about what i...

    Gunsmithing "Custom" scope rail

I have a project 10/22 and the receiver has the built in scope rail which is flat. I'm thinking about putting in in my mill and machining 30 or 40 MOA of camt into the rail. I'm not a gunsmith.....i know this should be left to a professional but i'm more interested in the process than the...

Question re: do I need more elevation in my rail? (Or scope setup error?)

Somebody way smarter than me should be along shortly but a quick seach shows that scope has 20 total mils available. That leaves you 10 up and 10 down when centered. Your 15MOA rail helped a little, but less than 5 mils total and you have to divide tbat by 2 so everything looks right, you have...

    Lot number lessons

My shooting partner and I shoot SK RM pretty much exclusively. Him through a RPRF, me through a couple of 10/22's and a Vudoo. I've done a lot of little things to his RPRF and got it shooting respectably. A week or two ago, it starts shooting absolute shotgun groups, 2-3" @ 50. I detail stripped...

    22 rimfire bullet trap

I've used 1/4" mild steel at 45 degrees and its fine. I've also used some boxes filled with rubber mulch, that works pretty well for total containment. If you use AR400/500 for rimfire it will last forever but its not needed

    30 MOA rail for 10/22

I'm using the EGW 40 MOA with an Athlon Ares (not ETR). I've got a 50 yard zero, and about 20 Mils of up available. With a little reticle, it'll get me to 400 yards. Its the only 40 MOA i've found for the 10/22 and for that reason its the only rail i'll use. Its not a machining work or art or...

To bed or not to bed?

My Vudoo fits in the Grayboe pretty well and shoots very well. I would have said no to the bedding until a recent experiment....different gun but i think the point applies. I have a 10/22 in a McRee chassis and a Kidd ULW barrel. Single hold fown although I increased the size of the hold down...

    KYL Spinner

Yes....i used targets from the same place. 5/8 is the thickest they have. I played around with the fractions and welded a couple together to get my 3/4 and 7/8. No.....i'm not capable of welding AR500, i just used my little wire feeder as hot as i could get it and did a lot of welding/grinding...
