    Not impressed.

    Had a Utc X fog up late winter in the rain. Still waiting for a third party to repair it.

    Just had a 2019 manufacture Utc Xii go tits up. Nuc started acting wonky. Especially after a shot. Then died and won’t turn back on.


    The undisputed King don’t GAF though. Still rockin.

    Anything mechanical or electronic can and will break if you use your gear.

    Most devices are tested and rated by caliber for X amount of impulses meaning it won’t indefinitely hold up to the abuses of energy. Internal hardware has its own life cycle, and like your windows XP laptop, it’s always on its victory lap until it’s not.

    This is why I find it strange how much people ask/pay for some of the older military thermals:

    I’m a huge fan of them for lots of reasons, but once factory support is no longer available, it’s a HUGE gamble unless the price dramatically reflects that reality.

    I recently passed on the opportunity to buy a UTC-X for 11k. The UTC-X sold, and then bricked on the new owner. He’s out 11k 😬

    Yes, depending on what’s wrong, certain problems can be fixed. Many cannot.

    I’m not poopooing military thermals. I’m one of the most notorious proponents of the things. I just think the price should reflect their ability or inability to be serviced. Sometimes this happens and sometimes not. Their are examples of both in the post exchange right now.
