I just need a scope, but otherwise my prototype USMC IAR is finally complete! It has an extremely rare KAC Heat Rail handguard, 1 of only a handful in private collections. I got the KAC Heat Rail about 7 years ago, and I've been actively trying to build this rifle for the past 3 years. It's now finally come together! The upper and lower are actually from a factory tanodized Colt 6921 donor rifle, and this is probably the only KAC Heat Rail prototype USMC IAR ever built with these tanodized Colt 6921 upper/lower receivers. The few other rifles that have been completed by collectors have been built with cerakoted receivers. So, this is literally a one-of-a-kind clone build!

The top black rifle is another type of prototype USMC IAR. The black IAR has a Colt handguard, whereas the tanodized IAR has the KAC handguard. The black IAR has a 100% original prototype complete upper (1 of 10 that has the markings on the left side of the upper receiver). The Elcan SU-269 optic on the black IAR is original USMC used surplus. The original SU-269 scope is in phenomenal condition, especially for being USMC used. It's also one of only a few in private hands, so it's pretty rare!

The tanodized KAC IAR couldn't have been built without help from Neal at Modern Arms Resources! He's the reason this rifle was built, and he did an amazing job finding the parts and getting it built to the original prototype specs! Thanks, Neal! @ringer706

Finally ordered a real ACOG for my SBR. I had been running a knock off, gun show special one (red chevron reticle), and for the longest time, I wasn’t going to worry about it, but I got this one almost $400 off through Optics Planet, and now I get it.

Thing is so freaking clear. I went with the 4x32 green horseshoe fiber optic reticle and I love it. It’s the rifle I carry in my go bag, but it almost got moved down the bench after I built my 10.5” .300BLK (which has an Eotech 512 with a G45), but I think it’s staying.

Couple of them for sale on GB right now I believe

Just wondering if this optic setup looks dumb or not? This is my 10.5” .300BLK “pistol” build that I had to SBR because I haven’t found a pistol brace I like yet, so I threw a SOPMOD on it. But I had the 512 in the cabinet from an old build, so I ordered a G45 for it. As you can see from the second picture, the set up works. It works very well, that target is from 50 yards.

Reason I ask is because every Eotech with magnifier I see nowadays it’s the EXPS3 with the G45, and that set up looks so damn cool. The 512 is left over from my dad’s Block II clone I inherited after he passed (long story - I didn’t realize it was a perfect Block II clone until after it was disassembled and rebuilt into two different rifles), and it was just collecting dust in my cabinet so I wanted to use it on something.
