Shots Fired At President Trump's Butler PA Rally!

So not to defend why the SS didn’t have the building secured in the first place but looking at the pictures from a couple different angles it’s clear the guy put a tree between himself and the snipers on the red building roof.

OR... Did SS put a tree between them and the designated position of the perp/patsy.

Guy put a tree between himself and the snipers which is why they didn’t see him until the last second prior to the shot. They probably shot through the tree to kill him.

If only there were more than one CS set up like every presidential event. Probally had atleast 5 teams out there for 360 coverage. Not to mention the people on ground yelling and pointing at guy while being set up. They could have jumped off roof...ran over and played tag with the shooter before he got the first shot off.

They let it happen.

Rifle 200 to 300 out based on the delay between the crack and the shot, definitely semi based on the rate of rifle. Judging by the off sync shot at the end it’s possible one of the secret service snipers shot the shooter.
This was exactly my thought. Now we know he was 160 out. The secret service shot came after and was impressively quick.

I want to see Trump fire the SS and hire his own security force made up of the most gnarly, badass savages walking the earth.

Pay them out of campaign funds and send a silent message about the level of corruption in the gov.
Exactly! We have a shit ton of retired high speed silent professionals that are loyal and faithful to this country that would be honered to do the job...

Every ss involved needs to be thrown in a dark cell pending investigation. Start with waterbording with diesel and see who starts talking.

Disagree. The ground team seemed really on the ball.

The people who need to be looked at are the advance team… and whoever decided not to cover the industrial plant 100 percent.

That said, I am willing to accept that a Former POTUS detail is not the same resource-wise as the full detail. And also that complacency, human error or (yes) someone’s incompetence we’re present before going “conspiracy theory.”

At least at the exec protection level.

We are looking at tactical firing positions.

I want “in” on the mind of the shooter. Who is he. Who was he known to. Background? Who/what radicalized him? Affiliations. Training. Where did he get his gun, etc. Until that is forthcoming. We are staring at pictures of buildings and lawns and second guessing a USSS team that by my accounting did pretty damn good when SHTF.

I want to know where the shit came from? And how did it get to the fan?

Obviously the system produced this shooter, so how many more are in a similar pipeline?

You don’t think those counter sniper teams were not bitching about a blind spot not covered?

I would think if they were any good that they would have been?

Or are you saying they were given too large of zones of fire to control?

If by “They” you mean DHS and/or Cheetos… the quotes from a number of campaign and RNC folks as well as RFK, Jr. was that the protection was dialed back or denied. Despite ramping rhetoric.

After convention, the protection would have been much greater automatically.

But “they” refused to augment a skeleton detail for a former POTUS who was a presumptive nominee.

This is where the buck stops. And with the advance planning. Who said “we don’t cover that building?” And why?

IMHO not with the ground team…

I sort of agree but need to add that our election system provides USSS to any candidate that reaches the point of being the top dog on the Presidential ballot. Not to mention that they will get read on to some of the intel reports. So any candidate that gets breaks the threshold will get USSS and intel reports with no regard to prior political standing.

It’s not a matter of past status as president for DJT. It’s another factor as he is ALREADY provided USSS coverage, along with being the next candidate on the ballot. Not that it should be he gets “more” protection of sorts. If there’s anything to really dig into it’s more of the advance team site reporting, assignment to local LEOs, etc etc etc . Bet you a beer that local LEO and Mayor//City Council have been burning the midnight oil to know who spoke to who, when, what instructions were received...

I don’t want to be under any microscope for this BS. Hope to god no one tries to cover their ass or sweep stuff under the rug.

One team for a 30-100k person open air rally with one of the worlds’ biggest targets?

How many marksman teams are at a mere football game?

Yeah… they should have been bitching. But… you bitch and then get the job done. And because it is the Secret Service and their folks take that seriously… you won’t see them on Tucker tomorrow as the man who shot Bin Laden or whatever…

there was more than one team.

there was more than one team.

Makes sense. Probably one over watching the crowd…. Based on position of the USSS guys on the roof, did they re-orient to look at potential threat? Based on where they were I’d have thought they would have been glassing the crowd. Or were those guys in the Dias with the rapid response “camo guys?”

Not sure how they layer their assets. And it’s probably secret squirrel anyway!

We used to augment the SS regularly in the DC area for Presidential and foreign dignitary events. One in particular I did was Clinton’s Victory in Europe anniversary speech in 1995, which was done on Summerall Field on Fort Meyer on the VA side in DC.

SS came in well in-advance, issued out lock-down restrictions for all windows facing the field, counter-snipers set-up on all the roofs looking at any angles a shooter could use, our normal unit traffic was moved to the rear of all the Company buildings in our Regiment, vehicle traffic was cut-off, etc.

I had to do late night guard duty patrolling the field to make sure nobody set-up in advance in the night.

SS recruited from that unit as well, and I’ve known a few SS agents over the years who were assigned there. Background investigation for that line of work is at a different level.
Without disclosing sensitive info, would the SS be responsible for actively monitoring the area of the shooter? I spoke with a VP at a university that has had multiple interactions with SS (presidents, former presidents, front runners etc. at school functions) and the number of SS agents that come in was smaller than I expected.

Clearly they leverage local pd quite a bit, and the town of Butler has 13k people so I would imagine (a) not many local officers to leverage, (b) the ones who are there aren’t really required to be cream of the crop, and (c) doubt many have experience with active shooter situations.

It does seem like the shooting point should have been one of the first places secured prior to the event, but even when T came to Waterloo, IA (67k population) the security on site was meaningful but not necessarily plentiful.

Most interesting thing in all of this is the denied request for more SS in recent months

If you listen to the cadence of the shots, it sounds like there were 3 quick shots likely by the shooter and then 4 subsequent shots (all in about 1 sec) from a different gun/caliber ... Likely not from bolt actions.

I know from personal experience that stir gets missed. I was unintentionally in a closed and restricted area within 350 of Obama In 2010.

But the roof of that building was such an obvious area of potential concern. I wasn’t there yesterday but in my personal experience above, local PD charged with the road I was on was their to “see there man!” And weren’t giving two fucks about the job.

They probably bought him the rifle and gave him a ride to the rally.
This has A I C black written ALL OVER IT. Blackrock just happened to have personal contact with this kids some years ago huh? You mean the outfit that funnels money to fund off the books stuff? Curious huh? The roof top that is the ideal perch just happens to have a ladder and completely unprotected ? Denials for increased man power to guard Trump repeatedly rebuffed huh? This guy associated with antifa all over the place huh? The perimeter is ridiculously small around this event huh? The damned people attending the event saw the shooter WAY before the SS huh?

All of this is just a coincidence huh? I mean, damn

I've got a collapsable ladder I use for work. It'll fit in a large backpack and I can access a one story roof with it. Could have been placed discreetly on site well ahead of time.

Hanlon's razor may be the best explanantion

I do much ladder work, and it appears to be a fiberglass step ladder. You can see the large aluminum rungs on it. I would assume it was already at the property for other uses.

There are only a small handful of places a shot could have been taken from with the shooting location THE most obvious, WTF...

One article said 4 teams and a drone. I’m still amazed that nobody was on that building.

I agree totally with those who view this failure of the SS to have been with those who let a fucking elevated firing position within about 165 yards be unsecured. Well, that and the approach to this building.

Kudos to whoever took the shot to take this asshole out (and I hope it fucking hurt before he expired), but the failure was with those who fucked up the security plan. On purpose...incompetence...dunno. But that's where the fuck up was.

I thought the same thing until I saw this clip with the clearest audio of all the footage I’ve seen so far. In this clip, you hear 3 shots, then 5 rapid shots, all from the same rifle. A few seconds later comes the suppressed dome shot from the SS.

The FBI has identified the shooter… it was Bill from forensic accounting…
-At the FBI? He worked for the FBI??

He used to, he got fired.

-What for?

He was a bad shot.

-That seems irrelevant for someone in forensic accounting… when was he fired?

Uuuhhhhh well basically yesterday… ish… 🫣

Seems inconceivable that law enforcement would have let a ladder be left laying around the perimeter of that building.
