I do know a few machine gun owners who fall into the category JSP556 is talking about... or "your just a peasant because you cant afford them" crowd...
Also same same as the CHL/CCW training guys that profess to be "defenders of the 2A" yet when constitutional carry comes up for a vote they are the first ones beating down the state house doors to yell that it should be voted down, to dangerous, etc... because "my money/business"... There was a guy in Missouri that did this a few years ago... just happened to be a cop and owned a pretty damn nice indoor range about 10 minutes from the house... I cancelled my membership and told them exactly why... because they were not friends to the 2A...they were money grubbing gun grabbers only in it for 1 reason... Happened in Texas a few years ago too...

Like I said. Most stuff is valuable because of age , historical prominence etc. Making MGs legal wouldn’t affect their value.
90%+ of transferables that are way up in price are M16's, MP5's, Mac 10's and Uzi's... None of which are rare or historical. Outside of Mac10's and Uzi's(and I am probably wrong on those, no clue on their production status in 3rd world countries) the others are STILL IN PRODUCTION.... Hell I would guess a huge number of "transferables" are just auto sears...for guns like M16's and HK's...again, not historic or old and still in production.

bull shit. if you needed a "special" gov license for an argentine mauser,it's price would triple. like said,most FA guns that are useful to the average person are still in production AK 47/74s,M4s some of the cheapest guns to produce ever. uzi an easy example. the jews brought them out as almost disposable items. same with easy to make small parts to convert existing semis. guys that just must have a FA gun will pay the jacked up prices just to have one if they have the $. control,control,control from your friends at ATF.

In my state open carry is illegal. However there are exceptions. Like carrying in a self defense scenario or while making an arrest. So if a hoard of thugs is advancing towards my property during s riot I can certainly open carry without violating the law.
And AL Gore didn't get his time in the limelight because they wanted a Rino to sign the Patriot act.

Honest question: if a person can legally own a pistol/revolver, (they are not a prohibited person), why open carry instead of getting your concealed carry permit and carry concealed? In Las Vegas, I see a lot of open carriers. It's shameful how "situationally" unaware most open carriers are. As mentioned above, wrong holster for the firearm, etc. I support open carry, concealed carry, constitutional carry. How people carry is up to them. I want to understand why open carry is necessitated if a person can get a CCW. If open carrying was a deterrent to someone to not fuck with you, there would be less instances of open carriers getting their firearms easily taken from them. I think a lot has to do with how the person open carrying conducts themselves. As the photo posted above reflects, I wouldn't question a person dressed sharply open carrying, but I would be weary of a tacticool fool walking around with an AR or AK at the low ready "exercising their rights." NOT saying they can't or shouldn't exercise their rights, saying we live in a world with stereotypes all over the place.
Since I first owned a pistol, I've had my CCW. What does open carry afford a person that concealed carry doesn't? I carry concealed because I don't want others to know that I am carrying. Not interested in Fudds, yahoos, wannabes, etc., striking up conversation, etc. How non-supporters of the 2A react is not something I want to correct or engage in. Their problem is their problem, not mine. If things go sideways somewhere, I'd rather not be on the radar from the start.

Also the myth that you become a target is bs.. First and foremost, criminals are not wanting to have a hard time when they commit the crimes.. 99% of the time if they see people woth firearms, that deters them and they walk away..
Second point to that is most people are so oblivious to there surroundings that they dont even notice someone carrying openly.

Ease of access. Pretty simple, really. No govt paperwork. I live in WA and open carried for years across every county in the Puget Sound. From the city to the woods, including Seattle. My sample size of one is that it was really no big deal. Yeah, I had some impolite and angry people a few times, though it never went beyond that. Far more common was friendly people with positive feedback. Of all of the people I’ve talked to that shared their opinions with me on open carry, not one spoke from first hand experience.
What I find comical is people telling other people open carry is stupid or dangerous, and telling others never do it, with a ‘I’m helping you because you don’t know any better’ attitude.
I like that I don’t have to get permission from the state to do it. It’s faster. I’m an American. It’s comfortable. All that USPSA experience translates better, lol.

Here in California they do a background check before letting you buy a box of ammo. Yes a background check.
My step daughter's boyfriend came over one time when I had a couple of rifles lying on the floor in front of the TV.
The second he noticed them, he stopped walking, inhaled sharply and pulled his hands up to his chest.
I asked him what was wrong and he said he saw the gun and it scared him.
I asked why and he couldn't explain it in any reasonable manner.
I asked if he would have done the same if it was a hammer or a circular saw and he said no.
He got an education that day from me and now he doesn't even pay attention to them when they are out. I still can't get him to actuality go shooting, but he'll play shoot 'em up games for hours...

Motorcyclists didn’t stand for the shit. We went around the country and rolled back helmet laws while seatbelt laws were becoming the norm. At the same time while we were saying, “let those who ride decide” we were pressuring people and educating people to wear helmets. Quite frankly, it’s a damnest thing I ever saw in my life, but it worked.
Right now the only time most people see guns is in movies or on TV when there’s a mass shooting or some other bullshit. We have made the sight of a gun an “alarming situation!!!!”. When I was a kid, there was a rifle in the back of every pick up truck window. I took my Hunter Ed in my eighth grade school classroom.
The very idea that seeing a gun causes people to have the vapors and clutch pearls is something we should’ve never allowed to happen. Not only are we allowing it, we’re encouraging it. Damn the left is so good at getting us to play their game.
Perhaps I should wear a burka when I go vote for Trump, because I might scare some letists……??

This might be a bit off the thread and off topic, but I have some thoughts on Florida’s open carry ban, i can easily get in trouble with it
Brenda and i are Louisiana residents. Basically in Louisiana, it’s AOK to carry anything anywhere unless you have a loaded rifle in your vehicle or in your hands on a road during deer season. LDWF are kinda overly picky about that. I suppose they are kinda in cahoots with the highway department, not wanting people to accidentally discharge their rifles through the floorboards of their trucks and thereby create ANOTHER pothole in the road…but I degresss
Our son (as most of you probably already know) lives in Northwest Florida. Great place, getting a bit crowded but we know where the places are that are nice and the tourists and newcomers from the northeast and kalifrona have not discovered. (Yet)
Seriously. I have no issues in carrying openly when working in my yard (we do have the occasional wild critter roaming about being somewhat in the country) and when going for a walk, carrying the garbage or just going for a ride down a country road. I stay concealed when going into town, where I really don’t want people to know I am carrying.
However, basically, I don’t worry if my tee shirt has caught the Walther’s or Ruger’s grip and the handgun is showing. It’s ok and in Louisiana, May through early October is tee shirt and shorts weather. Why would you want to wear anything more? “It’s HOT Man, Were you Born on the SUN.‘ I will pull my tee over the holster, but if i don’t who cares?

So, for this old fella, that law in Florida is a concern. However, despite my close ties to Florida, I don’t vote there and while I do pay sales taxes there and spend money there, it’s not my residence. Its there's, and if that is what they want, I (and all the rest of us NON residents) have to abide by it.
I just need to be careful.

I live in a small town in the panhandle, very conservative, I run a family owned outdoors/ gun store and one of our guys gun always ends up outside of his shirt (which is legal with owners consent) and I am surprised how many people point it out to him, like it's a capital offense.
This is why I support open carry. See, I want to restore the country to when 51% of the people you see on a daily basis are open carrying. This alone would give a thug second thoughts. Can’t we all agree that if an event were to happen, by the time the popo shows up, they’ll be calling for a coroner instead of back up?

We are on 5 acres with our home and business on it. I open carry everyday all day for years and years. We have customers coming and going 12 hours a day and, really, less than a dozen asked about it politely. And, their questions were more about the legalities of it, which was a great opportunity to enlighten them.
Women men, children from all over the world, it's incredibly international here, and no one blinks an eye. No one cares. And they must see it, I have a skinny waist and I'm wearing a g19 w gun belt and holster.
While I may or may be not open carry in public, it's none of my business if someone else is. Right now I have to keep my shirt untucked to hide my gun when I'm out. I'd prefer to have my shirt tucked in with a nice belt and holster

A customer of mine was visiting and one of his friends by chance also came through. Both were from up north somewhere and the two started talking. I don't know what got them on this topic but, one said to the other, you don't want to be fucking around in Florida, and the other said, why???

I have a lifetime carry permit now that I am in Tennessee. When I lived in Asheville NC the past 9 years, our sheriff was anti 2a and anti military and vets. He would do everything he could to prevent carry as well as purchasing handguns for vets. U fortunately we had to purchase permits to purchase handguns.. I had ts clearence as well as Texas chp before it expired as well as nfa items. For the life of me he would not approve my purchase permits or my chp. Earlier when I lived in Fayetteville it was not an issue.
Open carry allows people to carry without a permit. It helps get around tyranical sheriff.
What exactly is it that makes you think all of the above aren’t carrying concealed? And will continue to do so regardless of the laws…
im not concerned at all... Ive been to plenty of public ranges and see the ass hattery on display from people who you refer to...
