I think Trump was as surprised as the rest of us that he won. That made him scramble to fill out a cabinet in a world and with people he wasn't familiar with. Lot's of bad advise from someone, and the republicans were his worse enemy so they offered nothing.
What he did was open the eyes of a lot of us to what was really happening in this country. He also put the evil elements into hyper speed as they thought the gig was up, which only exposed them more. Probably mostly concerned with the election rigging being dealt with, as this allowed them to control the system and politicians.
However this ultimately made them aware that they could actually operate right out in the open and challenge us to do something about. It also made us aware that there is very little we can do to stop them.

Sadly the Kenyan purged a great deal of the good ones if not all of them. To be honest. Gen Flynn was probably the only one that would have had his back. My opinion is that is why the FBI and CIA took him out before Trump officially took office. They destroyed that man's life along with his friends and family.
