Why are we not talking about the devastation in Western NC, TN, and other places?

Not saying the numbers are correct as I don’t watch tv and have no clue what the numbers are honestly, but to be fair can you count a body as a death without finding it unless you go through whatever criteria to declare them legally dead? They had landslides and people got swept away in their houses/vehicles and buried. you don’t just magically find them but they start decomp and the gasses start leaking out of the ground you can have an idea where to dig. They’ll probably find more later on in the cleaning up also.

As for “10,000 body bags” I’m a little lost do they need 10,000 more, or are there 10,000 sitting there? it’s an MCI with unknown number of dead/missing, you’d generally have an abundance of body bags. Had they not had enough and started laying out bodies in the open they would also bitch about that. They were also asking for body bags pretty soon after the flooding, if a bunch of agencies all over send body bags you could end up with quite the pile pretty quickly. Then there’s the tons of organic material (food, animals) that were swept away that are decomposing also.

Yes the government sucks bad, but a little common sense and reason helps also.

Just when gas availability returned to normal in my AO.

2. Western Caribbean Sea (AL95):
Widespread showers and thunderstorms continue across the
northwestern Caribbean Sea in association with a broad area of low
pressure that is gradually becoming better defined to the north of
eastern Honduras. Environmental conditions appear conducive for some
additional development over the next day or two, and a short-lived
tropical depression or storm could form before the system moves
inland over Belize and the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico on Saturday.
Regardless of development, locally heavy rainfall is likely across
portions of Central America and southern Mexico through the weekend.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...medium...50 percent.
* Formation chance through 7 days...medium...50 percent.

Hopefully, it dissipates, but pray it doesn’t follow Helene or Milton’s path. Those folks need a break.

Exactly. And not a damn thing on the media nor anything from gov that I’ve seen. I’m sorry but America should come first and we should quit sending our resources and money overseas. Half of them don’t give a shit about us or hate us anyways. The people effected by the storm and those in Hawaii should be helped before we send another cent overseas!
I agree with this statement, and will add this:

"How many other countries around the world, are sending help and funds and materiel to rescue and clean-up?"

Only Canada, as far as I know so-far.

Many of them are totally clueless as to what America is really like, but most think we all live in mansions and have millions of dollars, and compared to the half of the world that lives on less than $5.50 day they're not wrong...

The last time I was in Honduras, the country’s GDP evenly distributed would net a citizen about five bucks…less tax, I’m sure.

Some of us lack common sense, some of us just don't trust our government, law enforcement, government agencies.

Sure there's gonna be a huge death toll, certainly more than Katrina. What if we discover that there was malfeasance behind the storms?

How long did it take for people to be suspicious about the Vegas mass shooting?

How many kids burnt to death in Maui, why was school closed that day, the water shut off, evacuation routes blocks by law enforcement? And the link between Vegas law enforcement and Maui?

ASGH regardless. We are certainly seeing some of the good in our humanity and communities. That's something the "new" illegals just have no concept of.

There’s definitely huge differences between a hurricane that came behind heavy rains in river valleys and the other situations mentioned.

There are a bunch of stories that a group of WV miners and heavy equipment operators got the road up to Chimney Rock open in a week… after NC said a year or more.

Any truth to that or more I turner fake news.

I am so hoping it “is” true. But these days the Bear Pit is about the o ly source of news worth trusting!

I went to an area in TN just a few days after the flood. The customer told me that there was 2 feet of mud on the road but it's clear now. When I got there the road had a thin layer of mud but the tracks were clear. Customer told me that the farmers had cleared the roads by Monday with their tractors. As I was leaving some state inspectors were coming down the road after inspecting the bridge. I wondered how they knew that the road was clear to get to the bridge.

You can see how high it got on the trees in the background. Hundreds of acres of corn is covered in mud. The river is just beyond the treeline.

Seems that's been all over the "alternate news" sources...

That's how inefficient the government is. Who's gonna maintain the roads? If you want better roads built faster. The private sector doest it while DOT is still trying to get their finger in their ass.

Well to be fair, what they built isn't a road to DOT standards. More like a Jeep trail. And according to an interveiw the NY Post did with them, they didn't want their names on record because they did all the work without any type of "approvals" and didn't want to get in hot water. But local authorities looked the other way because they knew how important access of any kind is. Shows what can be done when you don't have people's hands tied up with red tape. A "real" road can eventually be built, in the meantime this will help get essential services to the people that were isolated.

I also think this is what slows down any response....red tape, the specialty of the .gov. Just the environmental studies alone for a new road would probably take 6 months. In the meantime whole houses, bodies of dead animals, fuel tanks etc have washed down the river.

During Irene... the towns of Proctorsville and Ludlow, VT were cut off due to floods. Turned into a giant island.

The local farmers and some contractors got their gear out and opened the roads.

They were sued by the State of VT for "Damaging riverbeds" During the opening of roads to get to two entire towns.

Fast forward to this spring's floods and a year before... my fucking CT douchebag weekender "I paid a ton for my Vermont Country weekend Home" idiot neighbor leftard asswipe... has his backhoe IN the BROOK... putting in his own rip rap and Lanai Deck into the brook, so he and his weekend faggot flatlander buddies can sit and sip their Chai-milk Chardonnay... and the State does nothing. Then the flood hits and the road (and his house_ completely washes out... in part because of the giant BLOCK he put in the fucking brook to build his little paradise deck over the bubbling brook... And noone does anything.

Fuckwit bring his own illegals work crew up from CT to fix the damage... and his own Power Crew from NY to reconnect his electriciy.... while the rest of the area is in the dark. Noone says a word.

Crony capitalism... is real.

If you suck the right commie dicks and are a CT moneybags douche who throws money around... you can violate every regulation.

If you are a VT farmer and rescue several entire communities, the commies sue you and try and destroy your life and steal your farm with fines... because you re-opened a road that the State said would take months. After "The State" 'secured' the right permits. And dealt with the 'inquiries' of a dozen Eco-terrorist groups masquerading as lawyers and "Public Interest" organizations. To stop the road re-opening long enough that their buddies could buy out the bankrupt farms.

Fucking commies.

Proctorsville...I still have a ceramic lamp made at Proctorsville pottery, probaby 35 or so years ago.

Vermont always seemed to be a "free" state...now it seems it's been over run by yuppies from CT and MA. It's a shame that cash became king in Vermont...I blame Ben and Jerry

Post Woodstock hippie communes... they targeted the state for takeover starting in the 1980's when it was recognized that it was small, had an easily-hijacket legislature... and then the progressives turned it into a petri dish. We were THE most conservative state in the Union until the late 1980's. Balanced budget. Tiny government. Self-sufficient and strong economy. No crime.

Now in the last 2 months, there have been more cars stolen here than in the last 30 years together. Overrun with drugs. Crime. Regulations. Homos and tranny's (and child predators). Supermajority progressives in the legislature. And property taxes/house prices so high that it is causing economic cleansing of Vermont families. Farms targeted to shut them down so that out of state lefties can buy them as retreats from their urban shitholes..

Traffic is retarded every weekend.

Yup... everything that Progressives have done to SF and Portland they have done to VT fiirst.
