Demand was too high last time and they sold too fast, better bump that price up! You guys shouldn't have let the cat out of the bag!

I see they have shown back up at powder valley. They sure aren’t priced like seconds though. Might as well just call them a-tips and publish specs at this price.

But they are now all sold out.
Did anyone get them at that price, or was that change after they were all sold out?
Real question, because I saw a private seller listing offering 110s or 106s seconds (I forget which) at like 46 cents per, at which point I probably wouldn't pay that to shoot seconds. I find it interesting to watch where the market price will stabilize on these, and if they will ever be released as an actual (non-second) SKU.

I saw the high price, and then I saw them sold out with a marked down super low price.
So this thread is almost 8 months old. Is anybody getting larger groups with these than with other bullets?
I got some for the 24 a box price. I wish I would have bought 10k. They hammer in my dasher. 30gr of varget average 2802. First, second and third round impacts at 1350. Hammers a 3 inch plate at 440. They are great for the price. Ordered another 1k when they went up to 35 a 100.

I hope they're the ones I think they are (same as the ones from PV)... or else I just bought my break-in bullets for my next ~12 6mm barrels!
Not answering for CK1.0, but I’ve been shooting them in my latest Dasher barrel. Running them at just about 2900 under 31.5gr of N140. They shoot pretty good. I’m happy I grabbed a bunch.
I've shot 800 of them at his point and I still can not figure out why they're called "seconds" or how they are any different from any other A-Tips I've shot (besides them coming in a boring brown box).
So far they've been very consistent and impressive at the speeds I've tried them (~2800-2900fps).
Same here. Shot 1000, I wish I would have bought 10,000. No issues at all. Shot them out to 1260 with great accuracy and consistency.
I grabbed 1000 but have not done anything with them yet. I guess I should keep my eyes open for more.
I know some units shoot the mk262 77gr smk and others that shoot a 70gr tsx and a 62gr all copper frange for CQB work.
Evidently, these bullets are not considered to be "easily expandable" as the Hague reads.

The Hague convention covers warfare with recognized nation states.
Terrorists are not protected under Hague.
If you continue reading, the US decided it was OK if there was a clear military necessity.
There's always a caveat.
do these still exist anywhere? the 106 TAP projectiles absolutely hammer in my 6arc i would like to try some of these as well.
They popped back up a few times at a few different places but I dont see any in stock right now.
I tried to get the G7 BC for these so I can plug them into my kestrel because the 106 TAP BC is not the same. Anybody have the BC? for some reason I cannot pull the 106 DOD 6mm bullet data out of the hornady 4DOF app to see what the actual BC is.
That makes sense. My phone never works anywhere it does not have service so the apps just dont work and I'd rather use my kestrel so I would like to just get the G7 BC.
others may not have this experience but I have updated the app and redownloaded it and it will not load the bullet profiles. The applied ballistics app does the same thing, luckily kestrels do not which is why I always bring it with me. Most places I shoot at are in the middle of nowhere far outside a populated area and sometimes google fi does not work well with certain company cell towers.
Turn airplane mode on and it works fine.
Try 285g7, it'll get you on plate with a good zero and decent es. Then tweak it at distance.

It works fine without cell service. For some reason, however, if you have weak service it loads slowly. Trying to connect to sync the app with updates likely. However, if you throw it into airplane mode it will start up immediately. A connection is not required for it to work.

Zero’d my rifle with 20 rounds and got velocity, plugged it into my kestrel and went straight to the 1000 yard line and got a first round impact On a 2/3 IPSC. Outstanding!
FWIW/BOLO, I've now shot 1000 of the factory second 106gn .243 A-Tips with awesome results and with no signs of why they're "seconds", until today when I was loading 300 more (rounds 1001-1300), when I found one (1) with a f'ed up nose/tip in the first 100ct box, and then two (2) 135gn .264 bullets in the other boxes (1 in each 100ct box).
Not a big deal, but maybe it is something to be on the lookout for. Both 135gn .264 ones wouldn't make it into my seating die, so they were easy to discover, and I found the 1 with the messed up nose/tip when just looking over the whole batch and case gauging a few here and there as a final quality control step I do where I look for anything wonky (and admire my work lol) when I'm done with a batch.

Yea I wish I would have bought more my 6ARC gas gun loves them. I’d like to try them in a 6 creed or a 6 dasher
I hand weighed every single one of my 5000 and sorted them by weight on my FX120i and I found zero issues or weight differences outside of super tight spreads. I found 5 out of 5000 that had a slight discoloration. Thats it.
I tried it on the big plate of a KYL rack at 600 yards and the splash was ~2 whole mils high and ~3-4 whole mils left.. so not great lol.
That said, while practicing build/breaks off different high/low props with a bag, I put 10+ of the normal/good ones into a group the size of a fist at 750 without trying too hard... so if they turn up again, I'll be buying more!

I had 2 123 gr eld-ms break tips while loading into the chamber of my 6.5 Grendel during a match. On the clock, if it fits it ships. Both hit a 2 moa plate from a solid prop at 4-500 yards. Not a real feat of accuracy, but good enough in the moment.
