Minor aside: Its not the content on tik tok. Its the fact that it is an arm of the Chicoms and you are giving them all your info (including passwords) for free. When Dems and Repubs agree, it should tell you something. In other words tik tok is very bad. Not the content--the program. The terms of service are like "we own your data, your phone, anything you do. BITCH"

I will now try and find a funny meme for disrupting the thread

That Nighthawk’s my favorite to shoot…but not with those Nate Challis mammoth tooth grips though! 😆

My Cabot shoots better though…sublime actually.

…but it rarely comes out to play these days which is a shame; maybe 50 rounds per year…max. Here’s a pic cleaning it after the first 500-round break-in session:

Again, I don’t shoot it with those Challis petrified coral grips, I put the stock rosewood grips back on when it comes out to play.

VZ Operator II grips?

Look like them to me… That’s what I put on my son’s Sig 1911:

It’s actually a really good pistol for the money despite the MIM guts. I found one with a really tight slide-to-frame fit, and spent a weekend lapping that in before fitting a WC trigger and main spring:

Really great gun for < $1K , even with the new trigger:

I bought several Kimbers (Mimbers, if you prefer), 20 or so years all but one were a mistake. That one survived several years of competition. Maybe 60k. Finish has lots of “character.” Overhauled with WC parts. Doesn't see much range time, but I plan to keep.

I have VZs on five or six.

Yeah, I don’t own any, but have fixed a few Kimbers for various friends and family members. They seem to be really hit or miss in the QC department; or at least they were. You might get a perfect one, or you might get a piece of shit that never shoots right.

I really like replacing stuff with WC parts. Probably better stuff out there now, but the WC stuff just flat works.

One more “1911” … OG STI Staccato-C single stack in 9mm, my third favorite pistol!

Was my primary carry gun, then truck gun for a while because it shoots so damn well, and easy. Tend to carry either a G19 or P320 with a lot more capacity, but a lot less style, these days with all the storm clouds on the horizon… 🫤

That single-stack Staccato is nice though, so smooth…and super easy to CCW:

That Kimber Stainless Gold Combat did not start life as a reliable pistol. You guys probably remember Kimber's failed attempt at external extractors. Well this was one of those. It was a jamomatic. I told Kimber that it was my off duty carry and therefore must be absolutely reliable so they replaced the slide with an internal extractor for free. Since then it has been an absolutely reliable pistol through roughly 30,000 rounds. Accuracy started to deteriorate and I had my gunsmith replace the barrel bushing which returned accuracy to 100%. Kimber has replaced the faded nightsights twice now.
