Good eye and thanks for the heads up. This is actually an old picture and I have done exactly that where they sent me a replacement door. It’s just one of the best pictures I had of it so it’s the one I like to use.

Nice idea for taking the picture. Waiting on my can now. Got the green dot zeroed this last weekend. 2 weeks into the can wait.
It took me a while to get the balance just right for the shot. I am happy with how it turned out.

How do y'all like the Walthers? I'm going to pick up both my PDP Pro E and SF match next weekend.
Still too new to really tell (less than 150 through mine) but I like the slide release. Not quite as nice as my first gun, an STI (grand power k100 mk6. imported by sti as the Gp6 at the time) but quite close. That one slapping in a full mag drops the slide. Walther won't quite do that but it is just a brush to drop it. Much much better than my m&p9c.
When I took my FIL trying out guns, Walther pdp, Hk Vp9, and Cz's came out on top. Fnh, Sig 320, and m&p 9c gen 1 with apex trigger (that one is mine) were lower and Glock 19 was on the bottom. All were rental guns and broken in but not worn out.
A village board member from the small town near where I live found this while going through a box of old village papers.
It was carried by the town cop back when they had a town cop.
He brought it to me to hold until they decide what to do with it.
It is in amazing condition for being in the bottom of a box in the old village meeting room for who knows how many years.

There is an ol gal in town that I believe is the niece of the last town cop but I have not got a chance to talk to her yet.
If it is anything like the small towns I live by, then they're all still related.
They're more like clans than families out here (and none if them like each other).
Decided to give Shadow Systems a try. The CR920XP was pretty much exactly what I was wanting. A G48 size/thickness, slide cuts, factory comp, optics cut, atleast 15rds. I was skeptical as I had heard lots of reports of reliability issues. I’ve got 250rds thru it so far. I had 2 FTF in the first 2 mags. After that there have been zero issues. Even shooting lower quality 115gr ammo. The trigger is absolute shit. I ordered a Tactical Pontoon drop in for it. Got a holster coming from Hilliker. I threw an older 507K on it that had extra. If it continues to be reliable, I’m going to put an EPS Carry on it. I’ve never been a Glock/Glock clone shooter. Out of 30-ish pistols, this is the first one to ever give me “slide bite”. However, I do grip very high.
Finally got my G45 Gen5 back from Jagerwerks. Had the slide direct milled for ACRO footprint (in this case, the Steiner MPS), enhanced rear serrations and cut/enhance front serrations, top serrations, corner chamfer/serrations, Dawson lower 1/3 black sights (rear sight cut/mounted forward of optic), and black nitride coated.
I’m going to send my frame out to have it stippled & undercut, then I’ll be making the switch at work to finally retire my ~17 year old XD40 4”.

They decided to sell it with sealed bids.
I put in a bid for $463 so nobody would steal it.
I came in second.
The winning bidder was the the great nephew of the last town marshall to carry that Colt.
He is an avid hunter, shooter and collector of old firearms.
When I found out it was his great uncle, I decided that if I win, I would give him the chance to buy it from me for the $463.
He put in a bid that pretty much guaranteed his winning it.
He is pretty bluefull over how much he spent considering my second place bid.
But I told him, don't matter, many hundred dollar bills will cross your palms in your lifetime but you only had one shot (conceivably) at this family heirloom and now it and its story is back home where it belongs.
I'll do the transfer this weekend and think I'll even buy the beer this time

I really like mine. Only one problem that I need to research.
If I insert a loaded magazine in the pistol, then drop the slide, a problem occurs if I want to remove the loaded magazine with the slide closed.
When I press the magazine release button to drop the loaded magazine, the top round pops out.
I suspect that when the slide moves forward to strip the top round out of the magazine, there is enough friction to cause the next round to moved forward enough to dislodge it to the point that when the magazine is removed, the next round pops out.
This only happens with a fully loaded magazine.
No other problems with the pistol, It's accurate, feels good in the hand, points naturally and is completely reliable in every other aspect.
6906 is my favorite handgun for concealed carry. I prefer da/sa and pocket carry. I have a CS9 and it's smaller than the 6906 but it only holds 7+1. I've found a way to pocket carry the 6906 and it holds 12+1. I could use a flush fitting magazine base plate but I like the pinky extension, so I shaved some off the pinky extension to make it work for pocket carry and put it in a Sticky holster.
Always wanted a specialist. Friend offered me his for a reasonable price should’ve taken it. Also offered me his Matt Mink worked over shadow with 3 mags for $800 and should’ve taken that as well lol

I know this is going to sound strange.
But you can take a vacuum with a brush attachment and get all that built up lent off that fine firearm.
Then take a microfiber cloth and rub it down with some balistol and it will shine better than the day you first got it.
If there is any lent left over vacuum again, may need to have a dedicated firearm brush attachment !

Got a new blaster yesterday. My first Canik. Prob go with an SRO after I play with it for a while with the cheap vortex.
Are they still using helicoils in the optic mount screw holes? Best thing is to drill the helicoils out before they get pulled out on their own, or before the skinny factory screws break off in there. The threaded holes that the helicoils thread into are actually a common size, though I forget what exactly they are right now. You'll have to ream out the holes in the plates for the new screws to pass through but no big deal there.
Check Taylor Freelance for brass bits if you want to add weight.

Yesterday I was in the middle of a quick clean with my Sig 322 that has been mostly ran suppressed. You have to take off the thread adapter and everything. Go to put it back together and couldn't get the dang nabbit stinkin thing together. Slide kept wanting to get stuck with the recoil spring wanting to come out around the barrel. Kept having to use a dental pick to push back the spring. Fiddle with the stupid thing for a bit til I finally look up the manual and realize I must've dropped the recoil spring bushing somewhere in my garage. Couldn't find it anywhere. Didn't remember seeing it at all ever. Order recoil spring and bushing to have shipped 2 day air to my sister in Houston area since I'm flying today. Glad it's my only Sig. Walther pdp is so much easier to disassemble.
First time I took apart my 320 upon putting it back together realized they slide would not go back into battery.
Google search the recoil spring is uni directional as far as how it’s placed back in the gun and obviously the direction my intuition said the oval end piece should seat was not the right way.
It should be changed to make it drop in no matter what way the spring guide is oriented.
Fucking L/Cpls the world over are probably beating the rear of their slides to force the slide back home on assembly thus holstering a broken pistol.
No. I've had a Professional in the past and found it to be a superb pistol but, let it go during a "family downsizing" many years back. This is a full rail Operator that went back to the Springfield Custom Shop to be built into as much of an Operator as Dave Williams could..Nowlin barrel, Heine rear, Springfield custom made front blade, the stocks from their Professional guns, 25lpi front strap, checkered rear of slide, Birdsong Black T finish and a few other things...... so kind of a custom Professional Operator if you will...
