It's Hunting Season: Show Us Your Rack!

It has been warm everywhere. But I am going to try for a while tomorrow. Mainly because the rut in my area tends to be mid-November. Though I saw a doe cross a county road in December. Some of them are still about trying to attract a buck produce a fawn.

Decent 8 point for my area in central Michigan. Older Remington 700 action with a 22" mountain rifle barrel in 30-06 in a TI model stock. Optic is a Vortex Razor LHT 3-15x50. 172 grain Speer Impact bullet over 58g H4350 drt at 160 yards.

Small 12pt buck my dad killed 3 weeks ago on my property. A couple more years and he’d have been a stud. I’m not bitching though.

I’m just glad he went and killed something. Neuropathy is a bitch. Sucks seeing your old man struggle to get around. Thank God I still get to make some memories with him.

Killed with a 16” AR in 6.5 Grendel. 130 yard shot. He made it about 20 yards and piled up.

10 minutes after legal shooting light we spotted him 1200 yards out feeding on the opposite side of the draw. We dropped off our glassing point and got to a flat(ish) spot. We watched him for half an hour and through the spotter we flip flopped on size. One minute he looked like a mature deer, the next he looked like a well endowed 2 point lol.

He's my biggest deer to date. Hunting the steep shit we were made me realize I need even more time with my dick in the dirt and shooting in field conditions.

I got home sold my hunting pack, bought a better one. Reupped my Mtn Tough for another year, and immediately starting hitting up friends to try and make an NRL Hunter shoot or 2. Hoping 2025 goes even better.

My 9 year old grand daughter got it done today. We been practicing with her 223 for while and she got to where she shot it really well. We were abt to pop a 4 pointer, when this guy stepped into the field 256 yards away. I quickly swapped rifles and let her shoot my 6.5. I ranged it and dialed her scope and she told me she was on it, so I told her to shoot and she hammered it. This was her first hunting experience and she was beyond thrilled.

South Texas management buck. 201lbs hanging weight, scored 130"
Not a monster by any means but my biggest deer to date. Shot him right at dark.

238 yard shot. 215 hybrid out of my 300winmag. I was surprised at the minimal exit wound after reading all the stories of it's terminal performance. It didn't make much of a hole but his insides were wrecked.
