Culled this old feller. Full disclosure all I saw at 515 yd was the dark mane and front antlers.
I was so excited to finally get an old bull I failed to notice his battle scars. He’s missing both extended tines! Not sure what he lived through. Not sure if I did the species a favor or not. Unit 42 I think, 30 mi from Grand Junction.

My oldest son and I went to get a couple doe for the freezer today. It’s opening day of the early anterless season. It didn’t go so well for him.
He seen 7 more buck. Then, to add insult to injury, he missed a doe. LMFAO
Will definitely be one his best worst hunts.

I after a two hour stock I nailed this little fucker.
He was brought down with a single shot from a magnum bottle of Windex.
Monday morning cull bull. 437 yds 190 Barnes LRX 2875 fps 300 win Blaser R8 NF NX8 2.5-20 found and
Ranged with vector x dead on.
WY. Hybrid Buck. Alpha Custom. Rifle was built in the mid 80s.

Just finished mule deer camp. My middle kid just passed his hunters ed so I was trying to get him tagged out. That didn't happen but he had opportunity.
He missed these. Said he couldn't calm his heart down. "I was just too excited and jerked the trigger"
This one was a dandy, I got the deer in his scope and thought really hard about just pulling the trigger for him.
His older brother did great though. Tagged out with a 3x3 with kickers. Found him in his bed at 460yds and closest we could get to a clear shot was 211yds. Standing off a rrs 34L the shot was about as dead center between the eyes as you can get (plug for @manzella)

I killed 6 mice and more importantly, 6 chipmunks in the past 2 days. Going to keep going on the chipmunks until my baits freeze. A 1/2 full 5 gallon bucket topped off with enough sunflower seeds to look solid. Who knew it was so easy?

I am still just trying to get whitetail. And my old high school friend, if we can ever swing the time, will go to near his dad's place in west Texas for Mule Deer. We need to get a move on, both being 60 and who knows what tomorrow brings.

They do in west Texas. Don't know about other parts of the country. They have to be tagged as a mule deer on our license.

Finally got to put the new smokeless muzzleloader to use. Got it zero’d at 100 on saturday with 2 nice little 3 shot groups and took it to 550 yards ready to hunt. This morning things fell together after having this guy on camera for 3 years, had to make a long 40-60 yard poke to seal the deal lol
My youngest got his first deer last weekend. 147eld-m out of a 6.5cm at 300 yards.
I got this guy that thought he was safe at 600 yards. 25cm, 134eld-m. Landowner has lambs and piglets, fox and coyote are the price for hunting permission.

Yes sir! I’ve only lived on the left coast for a couple years but I’ve shot two other small black tails and they were delicious

I thank all the posters and their photos. I'm 66 yrs old ......,the past two yrs my interest in hunting has declined tremendously.Reasons being.......In the past 10 years I've lost damn near all my hunting buddies to death. My camp is but a skeleton of the men it used to be.
. My " Baby Bear " has me a 2yr old grandson, that she is busy raising,and in nursing school, so she doesn't come hunt with me anymore. I've killed 2 doe in 2 years.....both shot off the front porch of camp.....100yd head shot and gave both to " Glen", who is legally blind and a lot older than me.
Yalls photos ,videos and stories have lit a fire under my ass...........I'm about to get " mad at them " once again.......maybe I'll get around to posting some photos of what happens , when that happens....... Not much room left on the walls to hang anymore and they all came from my " home place" that l've hunted since I was 6.........tad under 900 acres.
To Dan , Daniel ,my Daddy ( Mr. Richard ), Columbo, Mr Charles ,Mr Frank, Tom ( my fishing buddy),Bundy,Jace , and Dennis all of you are missed dearly.

I hear you. I turned 70 in August and enjoy the sons and grandsons doing most of the harvesting. Have hand and wrist problems tried surgery on the right to no avail. Finally found a truthful doctor who said they're wore out and arthritis has won the battle. Enjoy shooting deer but the loading up and especially skinning gets pretty tough. Just being there with the boys keeps me very content with an occasional doe or cull Buck head shot when they're there to help afterwards. I agree with you that posting the harvest pictures are great. Keep em coming guys!!
Rut is just now in full swing here. A little late with the warmer weather we had up till now.
Yeah it happens fast. A small touch of gray in my late 40's and then damn mid 50's and the shit is everywhere! My wife swears I will be easier to live with when all my Irish red is gone.
Mind sharing who built your muzzleloader? Looking at having one built myself. Congratulations on a great deer!
