It's Hunting Season: Show Us Your Rack!

Even though post #9 doesn't rate a shirt....I'll keep it going with Komifornia #2.
.300 win mag 193g hammer hunter @3150 to the back of the head. He didn't move.

110lb pack....8 miles out...brutal. Cold beer at the truck.....priceless!

Culled this old feller. Full disclosure all I saw at 515 yd was the dark mane and front antlers.
I was so excited to finally get an old bull I failed to notice his battle scars. He’s missing both extended tines! Not sure what he lived through. Not sure if I did the species a favor or not. Unit 42 I think, 30 mi from Grand Junction.

Just finished mule deer camp. My middle kid just passed his hunters ed so I was trying to get him tagged out. That didn't happen but he had opportunity.

He missed these. Said he couldn't calm his heart down. "I was just too excited and jerked the trigger"

This one was a dandy, I got the deer in his scope and thought really hard about just pulling the trigger for him.

His older brother did great though. Tagged out with a 3x3 with kickers. Found him in his bed at 460yds and closest we could get to a clear shot was 211yds. Standing off a rrs 34L the shot was about as dead center between the eyes as you can get (plug for @manzella)

CO first rifle tag
Not huge and a nice bull for a unit that has OTC bull tags for archery, 2nd, and 3rd rifle seasons.

My deepest gratitude to my 2 hunting partners this year for their help on a rough pack out.
@Stevo86 and @Claymorx , thank you!!!

Amen, brother. Bless you. And thanking God for the harvest.

I am still just trying to get whitetail. And my old high school friend, if we can ever swing the time, will go to near his dad's place in west Texas for Mule Deer. We need to get a move on, both being 60 and who knows what tomorrow brings.

Kinda jelly pimp. Always wanted to tag one of these after I got a chance to caribou hunt way back when. Nice bull

Hybrid - does that mean cross between muley and white tail?
Nice buck sweet sounding rifle.
I was under the impression that the Muley/ white tail didn’t / couldn’t successfully breed.
Muleys are, genetically, crosses between WT and Coastal Black tail deer. Where their ranges overlap, muleys can successfully hybridize with either.
