My mother is a well known house plant killer.

I come home from college one semester and she has a small glass of water and asks me to water the hanging plant. It was higher under some large skylights in the kitchen

I grab a chair ..the plane is fake/plastic

Of course I’m confused

Winds up my father hung a fake plant for her and is always the one who waters it. Skylight faces south so it dried up quick. Said he was tired of having a half dead plants for 30 years of marriage

Of course she had no idea etc

More to the story but it was fucking hysterical

Once ya' git to the Territories a week from now, yer' gon' find that trading posts are far and few..."

OVER A CENTURY AND A HALF OF QUALITY AND EXCELLENCE AND STILL COUNTING.

Looking for a subject for a nice post to make today and got the inspiration for it pretty much instantly... Just a routine email from Hazizah, my first love who had been back in her home country of Algeria since 2011 but we still keep in touch. During our time together, one of the things I said to her was: "I am your Jeremiah Johnson, and you are my Swan"... What is love, without a way for one to protect and defend?

So this one has been long due in the making...
