PS woke Google won't let you search on "Ghetto Fabulous" any more. So had to improvise....
ohhhhhhh....I was thinking Oakland Oregon.....that girl is definitely not from there🤮

I'm torn.
Part of me says install the right kind of lock.
The other part of me... I spent four years working as a locksmith at a university. At least the first three weeks of every semester were spent going to rooms where there was nothing wrong.
"I never would have believed it, but this is my job. Explaining to college student how a fucking doorknob works."

How would they learn to use one? Mommy takes them everywhere and opens the doors for them…

That is unless you don’t like the dudes across the hall and penny them in. Followed by stuffing a big envelope full of shaving cream under the door and dropping a big book on it. Or piling up talcum powder and blasting it under the door with a hairdryer!

Also was known for putting Saran Wrap over the toilet bowl and raw oysters in pay phone change return slots.

Dorms used to be fun!!!

My X knew Sammy's family, he actually spent hours in front of of a mirror practicing his draw.

Wasn’t afraid of no Klukkers or Nazis…. Being black and Jewish, everyone wanted to set him on fire!

Though I have read that if any hotel or club folk gave SDJr. crap, Frank Sinatra would have the local mob boys pay a visit and set things straight… they were very good buddies.

Oh the memories! 🤣. Also practicing chimney climbing it the hallway and dropping down right behind the Resident Advisor to startle (scare) them.

Another good one was to paper the door leaving a slight gap at the top and filling the space with packing peanuts while the subject was still in the room.

Of course the Dorms 30+ years ago was where I met my bride and some great lifelong friends .

Beryllium copper is poisonous, no.
Beryllium is toxic, injury known as berylliosis.
Was always told not to get stuck with shards or splinters of it 'cause the wound sites would never heal. More common is inhalation of fumes/dust where it causes chronic inflammation of the lungs.

They all did.

In Hollywood of that time quick draw and cowboy guns were cool.

Plus, it probably got you a better shot at getting cast in a John Wayne movie. Because cowboy movies were the thing and if you were Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra or Jerry Lewis, you wanted to be in a cowboy movie.

I bet even Sammy Davis Junior wanted to be in a cowboy movie. Unfortunately Clevon Little got the role of a lifetime!

The funny thing about blazing saddles is when it was done the studio screened it and said not only is this not funny, but we can’t put this in theaters. Then they called it Richard Pryor (who was one of the writers on the script) to look at it and he couldn’t stop laughing and said it was the best movie ever made. So they released it! It was the studio's biggest moneymaker of the summer and nominated for 3 Oscars. In 2014, the National Archives declared it an important cultural film and it is one of the movies inducted into a rarified list of American films.

Decades ago I was on a two man crew driving an 8 x 8 access drift into a beryllium vein in West Texas. The pre-job physical took almost 8hrs. Pressure assisted full face respirators when mucking in the tunnel then full time after the vein was exposed. Roof bolts through the access, spiling and steel sets through the vein.

Thumbnail sized flakes of what I was told was beryllium visible in the vein.

We were the contractor, don't ever remember hearing who the owner was.

Thank you,
MrSmith
