Fuck no, all sig does is release another pig in different lipstick. Look at all of their current sku's and past ones and their new "forever" warranty bullshit that it has to be a "current" production. They keep changing them, use a different shade, etc. peddle more shit and no support past. The only thing I will give them is they know how to play the "market" in which the average consumer is a retard.
The handguard would be dope. Would prefer that wood handguard or carbon fiber for hunting in the cold
Sig Cross guys with 56mm scopes. What scope height are you guys running? Just seeing if a 1.18" tall mount with 56mm objective would clear the handguard.

Anyone else having issues with their stock hinge? Mine wobbles quite a bit when it's in the "locked" position. Called sig and they said I could send the gun in but...yeah, I don't want to do that. If all of the hinges develop issues then it is what it is but if they're usually solid. I don't mind replacing the hinge on my own.

When locked, mine has side to side play.
I don't mind that it isn't super tight when its folded.
I feel like the prior owner probably screwed with the hinge too much and may have put pressure on it when it was in the folded and locked position. The material may be warped.
I'll probably replace it eventually and see if that improves the issue.

I like the looks of the fore end. About right for an arca off a tripod. I prefer a pic rail for bipod.
Although my sample size of 2 sig crosses both shot sub 1/2moa, the barrel isn't a huge plus. Although getting a cut rifled barrel is a plus I suppose

Just managed (3) 5 shot groups @ .65" - 70" with Berger 140 Hybrids just after a break in session. With a Bushnell 4.5-18 LRHSi. Not exactly a great optic for groups. Wind was all over the place as well. I'm fairly confident I can tighten that up .

The pricing on the Sawtooth Short action will likely be asinine. The addition of a carbon barrel is, at most, only a few hundred dollar adjustment. As long as they keep making these i would expect that a mini-action should come soonish followed by magnum bolt face short actions.
Took the 6.5CM Cross out today, got this one from Straight Jacket. For a 20” barrel and Berger 130s you can’t be disappointed hitting the antelope at 785 three shots in a row. Put it on the tripod for out to 400. One of the more fun guns I’ve gotten lately.

Sig HTX is a deal. Has the ARCA fore end that I like, and most of the same features as the STX. But the barrel is 24". Lacks the STX/PRS safety and fat bolt knob. Both of which can be added. Feels like the PRS version without the steel parts and weight. Mine weighs 10.8 lbs with scope.

Hmmm, I didn’t see the HTX on the Sig website. Not sure I want a 24” barrel on the Cross, but I can always cut it down to 22” ( my preferred 6.5 barrel length for anything other than a dedicated precision rifle). Is the only difference the hand guard & barrel?

The STX has the full length Pic rail on the hand guard. The STX is black, the HXT is grey. The STX has an Sig taper muzzle device, the HXT comes with the ring that allows a normal 90-degree shouldered brake to work on their barrel.
After removing all the loctited fasteners to pull the pic rail off the STX, required to remove the hand guard, required to remove the barrel, im not a fan of the full-length pic rail.
I like the grey better, and I have a TBAC brake on them both to mount a can. I added the PRS safety to the HXT.
For the cost savings, I can add a Proof Cross barrel or a SJArmory barrel. But the barrels have been pretty accurate (for a factory barrel) for me.
I definitely like the integrated ARCA fore end a lot. Swapped it out on my Cross in 7SAW.

Couple of questions to the guys with the STX's.
1. What velocity are you getting out of the 20" barrels? Trying to see if it is enough to make NRL power factor.
2. Is the muzzle thread tapered like the regular versions? If so does it come with the 90 deg adaptor to run a normal non tapered muzzle brake?

1. Looks like my STX with a 20” barrel gets 2700 fps with my 140 ELDM load and 2725 with my 130 TGK load. I looked it up, and this load ( 2700 fps x 140grs) in my STX will not make NRL power factor. Of note, the HXT with the 24” barrel does make power factor. 2800fps x 140gr.
2. Yes, barrel has a tapered shoulder. Since the rifle is sold with a tapered three prong flash hider, no muzzle shoulder ring included. The HXT does not come with the flash hider, so it does include a shoulder ring.
You'd only have to get ~2,585 fps with 147gr though right? That's pretty easily doable with Staball 6.5 or RL-16, even in my 18" Cross, unless you're stuck with factory loads or something like that.
I hope sig brings out a 223 size platform.

With Federal’s new powers mixture that Bill G was showing off for great speeds out of short barrels, I think we could see some 223, 6mmArc, 6.5G and others benefit in 16” barrels or less.
The sig cross would be the ideal hunting set up if you didnt want to run a semiauto

Not that I’m an expert, im not, but the velocity x weight must be 380000 or greater. 140s need to go 2715. 147s need to go 2585. You can decide what works best for you. Plus a pad for temperature, variations like es/sd, and the phase of the moon.
Has anyone tested the Cross for forearm flex? Shot prone bipod, prone bipod with the bipod as far rearward as possible, off a barricade/ bag, and then off a tripod....to compare POI change. Although the handguard doesn't clamp directly to the barrel extension, the joint between it and the receiver is on the portion of the receiver that houses the barrel extension.
