But if a stretch here, but has another compare the TBAC ultra gen 1 vs gen 2 or other common 30 cal can on subsonic 300 bill or 338 arc?

I currently have a gen 1 338 ultra SR. It’s a great can on my 300NM and from what I’ve read online with this caliber only about 1 db louder than the gen 2 so I don’t feel like I’m missing out at all for that application. However I see the gen 1 sucks on smaller calibers like 308 and 6.5 compared to the gen 2.

I was curious if anyone tried these two can on a subsonic caliber as I know the flow dynamics and suppressor designs are very different between supersonic and subsonic loads. My primary interest would be building a 338 ARC or using on my current 300 blackout rifles to make the as quiet as humanely possible with low back pressure. And even if they are quieter vs something like a silencerco omega/36m or similar industry 30 cal or 338/357 can, is it significant to the point you’d pay the weight and length penalty?

My understanding is subsonic cans like lots of baffles whereas supersonic cans like fewer larger baffle spacing. Never seen a cross section of a gen 1 vs gen 2 to compare.

Is there a perceivable difference between either one in that subsonic application specifically? I know the can wasn’t designed for that purpose but it’s large volume I’m sure makes it pretty good as I’ve found internal volume with sub 300 blk makes the biggest difference. The volume and bigger bore would keep back pressure lower I bet too for a gassy gun like a MCX/spear LT

The Gen2 will be a tiny bit quieter
Also are you guys planning to restock 5/8x24 SR brakes any time soon? Out of stock everywhere for awhile now.
They are in continuous production, the crazy demand of 2024 approvals just put us a bit behind on them. Give us a call or email and we can get you on the backorder list.

Thanks for the info. Was just trying to bet info before investing in another 150 dollar brake. Any idea how it would compare to some of the other cans in your video? I know you didn’t test it but just from your ear wasn’t sure if you ever shot the gen 1 back to back at all with other cans to compare. Normally for me quiet enough it quiet enough for suppressors and I look at length weight and back pressure more, but for this build I’m literally trying to go as quiet as possible with a 338 arc or 300 blk.

If you're asking about a Gen1 338 Ultra, it will be very very close to the Gen2 on 300BO subs. Most of the other cans in the video I don't think are available in .33 cal so the comparison set for 338 Arc would probably be different. We also now make the Magnus, -S, and -K in .33 cal which offer additional shorter options for 338 ARC builds.
