Being in Wyoming, I hardly noticed.
What I did notice was that even though Tommy and the other lawyer were hell bent that she is a disaster, this week well “Monty saw something in her”.
Tommy further talks down the other male lawyer like a back stabbing bitch, when it was painfully obvious if it had been just him (the male lawyer) dealing with the families he would have got them taken care of for a lot less money. That lawyer is calm, quiet, unthreatening but has his head on a swivel. A viper.
Speaking of guns, what I did notice is that when the cartel picked him up to kill him, HE DIDN'T HAVE ONE! So he can blow smoke to a female lawyer about carrying guns, but when he starts a war with the cartel, he doesn’t bother to fucking carry one…..???
Oh and I believe I was right about the first coyote being Monty. The second one being Tommy.

Yeah, he did have a gun. He carries a 1911 in the glove box. He reached for it but realized the futility of it when he saw he was outnumbered and boxed in.
The "He should have been carrying" adage doesn't mean squat in some real life situations.
Maybe he could have shot Jimmy in the face when he walked up to the window and thumped a couple more before flooring it and trying to outrun them but to where?

He was dead……. So the no play, was not a play. A gunfight would’ve been much more preferable than going up in flames covered with gasoline with a nail stuck in his leg.
The only reason he lived, was by a sheer stroke of luck, not by design. Even if he knew his death wasn’t sanctioned, the fact that boss showed up just in time was again, sheer luck. Sheer luck is not a strategy.
Not only should he have had a gun, he should’ve had five, LONG guns, and four people with him at all times out there.
Remember, he’s the one who started the war with the cartel. They made demands, HE chose war….When you start a war with a cartel you don’t drive around alone in your little pick up truck out where the cartel operates. If you’re gonna escalate you escalate full-time.
I will say I did find the Mexicans speech about how he has senators and police too interesting. Of course he does, is Tommy not aware of this? Is this news to Tommy?

I thought of that, having a couple more vehicles of bodyguards would be the only way he could have outgunned the cartel but driving everywhere escorted by an armed security detail wouldn't be feasable. And then they could get in a cartel shootout like down in Mexico.
Or maybe Tommy can drive an uparmored F-350 Narco tank with Dale on the .50.
But one man with a 1911 isn't going to save himself against eight equally or better armed enemies. His only recourse was to hear what Jimmy had to say.

Tommy's a landman, doing landman shit and TS is trying to keep it real. For him to rewrite the script with Tommy driving around with a security detail wouldn't be keeping it real.
The cartel has been a minor problem up to this point, other than the stolen plane. They jumped at Tommy over the lost load and he sic'd the Nat'l Guard on them.
I see Tommy using the new cartel boss that wants into the oil business as a way to help M-Tex.
Tommy doesn't like the cartel and it won't be a happy partnership.
The scary thing is, that scenario is a possibilty in real life, if it hasn't already happened.
Also, Jimmy died too fast. That greasy rat needed some pipe-wrench treatment on all his fingers, knees and other skeletal parts with a sack over his head.

Everyone loves Sheridan’s writing but 90% appeals to the easily manipulated. It lacks intellectual honesty and plays off the expectations of today’s society.
Sheridan punks Texans, women and men for that matter but like good pups they clamor for more. He makes an obscene caricature of almost every character. Sheridan is the modern fast food of TV under the guise of quality writing.
People falling for this trash have little understanding the impact such a proliferation has on our culture. Yet they endlessly pretend that they care about the degradation of our society. They wonder out-loud why it is happening.
I will likely see my grave before another true masterpiece like True Detective Season 1. A MasterClass in writing, casting and acting. A show that places woman drama not as draw for simps but actual key elements in the plot.
A plot where real warriors pick their battles wisely and fight accordingly.

I really had hopes the cartel would take the wife and daughter. Then when the boys showed up to take them back the wife would catch a stray in the eye and the daughter would be in a coma until the end of the series.

Taylor Sheridan did his homework on Landman, at least on stats in the energy field, and I've learned some things. He can write diologue for the big oil magnates thats impressive. Plus, the guy has some homegrown backwoods savvy that I thought I only knew. Like in Yellowstone when Liz Cheney's manbitch Kevin Costner explained to his grandson about pissing on the edge of camp to mark his territory against the wolf. (I do that here to ward off coyotes and it seems to work.) I also learned there actually is a lawless, no man's corner in Yellowstone which is portrayed as 'The train station.'
But then he'll turn around and do something completely Hollywood retarded such as the horny daughter on 1883 screwing some Comanche and turning the series into some nonsense right out of the corny '59 song "Running Bear loved little White Dove...".
And then he used Yellowstone as a format to show off his roping, spinning horses which he drove up and down the Plains, never letting them out of the trailer unless it was to show off on them in the arena. TS himself was a shit actor that injected himself crudely into that series.

Yes, it is/are his show(s). Most of what I've watched has been good (1883 sucked, not sure yet on Tulsa King). I have several criticisms, but they're not worth mentioning since he can do whatever he wants in his shows. I don't grow tired of the girl boss characters that appear in almost every series. Especially the bitch lawyer in Landman.
Here is another classic example of Taylor Sheridan’s writing, punking both DEI female characters, their Wyoming SIMPs and the dullard audience.
This female Agent, despite being completely out of her depth, ignores explicit warnings from her more experienced local male “team members”.
She emotionally asserts her authority, completely misreading the situation. The men surprisingly defer to her DEI authority and comply despite knowing they are being set up. This is life and death in the wilds of Wyoming….
Instead of doing anything to properly read the situation and diffuse it by maybe leaving and coming back with a better team or with a better tactical advantage, no, she forges on…..
The result? Her team is wiped out, while Jeremy Renner’s goes full simp mode making sure to provided cover and rescue her and only her. In the hospital they lick their wounds, as they are depicted the surviving heroes. “They” (no Renner did) got their man.
Her character, like Tommy, is an inept modern disaster. They pick battles they have no business being in. They survive by the sheer luck that an unlikely character arrives JUST in time to rescue them.

I freaking loved her character, and I loved how Blunt played it.
She doesn’t come off as a hero. She comes off as a tragic victim anti-hero. She’s over her head, she realizes it and time and time again she’s forced to confront it. When she tries to override men, they put her in her place. And rightfully so, because she shouldn’t be leading those guys.
Imagine how it would’ve been if she had overridden that special forces team in the desert and gotten them all killed.
Sicario stands out in this conversation because these are guys who have picked battles and they are fighting them the way that men should fight, when you pick battles. Tactics, Violence of action. Most of the time she exists in a mild stated of “stunned” while observing.
The second one, like most sequels, I felt had a lot of holes and yeah, not having Emily blunt as the anti-hero, I think took away from it quite frankly. I don’t think just anybody could’ve played that part.
I’ve always maintained that you have to have decent writing but casting is the fucking key to a good movie ,TV series, etc. I believe that great casting can actually fill in for poor writing. There are actually great examples of this happening. I believe Tombstone would be one example.
Damn don’t get me on going on Sicario because I just think that’s a masterpiece.

Settling for mediocrity and things that destroy our culture have become the norm. Remember it was Sheridan who brought up the Paul Harvey bit on Joe Rogan. That lit me up. Hollywood has long been poisoning our culture.
There is just no discounting the effect Sheridan is having on our cuture. Particularly in encouraging men to be SIMPs and the various worst behavior in women. As I’ve mentioned before Beth from Yellowstone is an icon to women, conservative women. A hair on fire, borderline personality, rage drunk. It never occurs to these dip shits that she’s the one that set everything in the motion that got John butchered.
Sicario is such a great juxtaposition here and I’m so glad it was brought up by @BoilerUP . I put Sicario up there with No Country for Old Men. Sheridan can do it. The non simp men need to clamor for it……
Remember, it isn’t like we don’t complain here on the Hide about what’s going on with our culture. Particularly when it comes to simps and women. This isn’t some non sequitur. I just pulled out of my ass.
