Patent laws, employee and partnership agreements for ownership of designs cover these things. If there was no agreement or corporate patent it is fair game. Most companies require an agreement that anything you discover, design as an employee or partner belong to the corporation/company.

Well I am coming out of the closet, I bought a Plan B and cherry bomb once, I learned the error of my ways.
Probably the best thing Kevin ever did was come up with the Plan B mounting system.
IMO, it's the most elegant mounting system out there.
That said, other companies have executed on this pattern much better than Q. Rearden produces excellent products on the Plan B pattern.

The Polonium looks almost the same as the Q silencers. If you click the Reddit link in the first post there are cutaways buried in there.
There's x-rays of multiple suppressors out there. The OCL polonium and hydrogen don't have any revolutionary baffle design, but then again OCL isn't claiming to have done what twat waffle has with the southpaw. As for sound data, I'm not sure.

The issue isn’t that the design doesn’t work. It’s well established that 60 deg cone works just fine for a supersonic suppressor and if you increase the volume to a 1.625 OD or even 1.75, it'll be quieter than your typical 1.5in can.
The issue is that the dude shits on his competitors, says that this product has been in the R&D pipeline for 3 years and releases this with great fanfare at the price of a huxwrx. This is literally a 150$ can marked up to 1150$
There's no innovative baffle design, clipping of the cones, pocketing, etc it's just your basic bitch 20 year old M4-1000 sized up to 1.75 and sold to rubes for top dollar with a marketing spin.

This. There isn’t anything wrong with the design. But there is no difference in between Qs super wonder can for $1200 and an OCL polonium or YHM phantom/turbo which cost half the price.
If you are gonna spend $1200 on a can might as well buy something that is ACTUALLY different like one of the 3d printed designed cans.

Of course it would be worth more. If you come out with a new product after 3 years of research, that actually changes the game, you can charge a premium and people will pay it. That’s exactly what OSS/Hux did with 3rd printing and flow through designs.

OCL is a totally different baffle design. And I'm not calling you out in particular. Just thought it should be mentioned. OCL r&d worked here. KB has used the same 60° cone, same shear clip, and same weep holes, in EVERYTHING.
His baffles are always too close together. Reminiscent of the early twin tech solvent traps. Simple, easy to machine, marginally effective.
