People who obsess over cartridges, and handgun cartridges in particular, are almost never good shooters. What's your deal man?
Is it that 9mm is the only caliber worth talking about? If that's the case- at least we'll have something to talk about.
I have some thoughts (of course) with pistol calibers but I'm not sure where you're coming from here?
I only disagree ever so slightly with one statement you made.People who obsess over cartridges, and handgun cartridges in particular, are almost never good shooters.
They have convinced themselves that the trivial differences in handgun caliber performance will make them more effective. In other words mental masturbation is way easier than being actually good with a handgun.
Change my mind
I've held a couple, never shot a real one though. Put almost 4,000 rounds through my P80 last year, it's Glockish.I am probably one of the very few people on earth that can honestly say I have never even held one.
I'm indifferent on the omission of the finger grooves personally. That being said I do understand why some folks find that to be nothing short of fantastic as well. But for me, I've never had a problem with the finger grooves. What don't you like about it?
Nah-People who obsess over cartridges, and handgun cartridges in particular, are almost never good shooters.

9mm is awesome. If you want cheap shit, you can get it. Affordable reloadable FMJ in bulk is available, 1,000 rounds for under $250 with free shipping all the time now. Ammo that meets of beats FBI numbers, you have lots of choices. Bullets that shoot straight through a 100+ pound ugly boar hog, yup got that too. And the guns hold more of them.
Now is a good time to shoot a 9mm.
Somewhere in the first 9 posts you said FBI testing, lords caliber and some other stuff.... Just replying to thatDon't get me wrong- your comment (and user name for that matter) all tracks... but this thread is about Glocks. I'm struggling to see how your remark aligns with the topic at hand is all?

Ya know- you're absolutely right.Somewhere in the first 9 posts you said FBI testing, lords caliber and some other stuff.... Just replying to that
And the first Glock was a 17 in 9mm right? Glock was ahead of his time. Who knew plastic guns in 9mm would be all the rage 40 years later.
My dismissal of pistol calibers that are not 9X19 has nothing to do with competition.Nah-
No need to. I can appreciate where you're coming from. The problem I have with your opinion on this discussion though is you cannot separate your biases from competition shooting (and this is coming from from someone that's done quite a bit of that in various disciplines such as IDPA, USPSA, GSSF, Steel Challenge, etc).
You likely believe the 9mm is the proverbial "end all, be all". And I'd suspect you'd point towards an argument such as split times or something else related to USPSA shooting. That's fine by the way- but it's also a skewed perspective.
I'm not going to argue that "games will get ya killed", far from that- I participate and also believe that participation in the games sharpens a shooter and makes them far better than they ever would have been had they not went down that road. Heck you might even be a super grand master in one concentration or another- I won't pretend to be anything anything more than I am with a pistol... last I measured I was a high sharpshooter in IDPA and somewhere between a high 'D' and low 'C' in USPSA (so nothing remarkable to speak of).
But these pistol matches are not my sole focus either- more power to the folks that dry fire an hour+ every night and plan their weekends around attending as many matches as they can every weekend. I can admire their dedication (maybe you're among those ranks) but I've just got other stuff to do and I'm more than fine staying 'mid-pack' in the pistol games because I likely have a different goal/mindset then you do.

ETA: If you want to get into a pissing match about how awesome you are then start a thread in the Pit. We're just talking about Glocks and how cool they are in this thread.
Perhaps I based my experience from previous comments you freely shared here on the topic in other posts. My dismissal of pistol calibers that are not 9X19 has nothing to do with competition.
When did I ever say so? Why do you like putting words in others' mouths?
