INTRODUCING THE 22 TAKE DOWN GEN2
We are pleased to announce a design revision on the 22 TAKE DOWN. The “GEN2” model has similar suppression performance (a little bit quieter on pistol) but is more compact and lighter. This version is only 4.8 inches long and weighs 4.8 ounces.

Existing orders for the 22 TAKE DOWN will be shipped the GEN2 version starting now.

Picked up a 50% cert from the Rifles Only Brawl last weekend and submitted it for a Magnus K RR, and was quoted a wait time of June 2026 to November 2026 for anyone else curious about cert wait times.
Takes me back to ordering my first cans in like 2015, except this time I'm not waiting on the ATF. I'm just hoping the short wait times are still there when mine is finally delivered lol.
I got an Ultra 9 sooner than quoted but I also got a 22 Takedown that missed the quoted deadline. It might not be that bad. I used a cert on Aug 27th for an Ultra 7 - estimated lead time was quoted as 6/2/25-9/14/25. It shipped to the local ffl on 2/12 and I already have the stamp and can in hand. I don't know the reasons behind why it was so much sooner than quoted but I'm certainly not complaining.
New video is up doing a side-by-side comparison of the TBAC Magnus-S and full-size Magnus suppressors on the 8.3" Aero Solus .300 BLK.
Yeah, those were subs... Why do you say assuming? Most people clip the audio in their videos to make the suppressors sound quieter than they actually are, to draw people in with clicks and views. This is how they really sound inside the shooting house with me. And those folks spend 10's of thousands in special audio equipment, and I"m simply using an iPhone. It's all about learning how to properly setup/position your gear, to closely replicate real life sounds. Sometimes when running supers, the audio clips a little or you have a hard time hearing the gong hits, but the main thing I'm trying to showcase is how the suppressor sounds, so people who don't own one can get as close to an accurate representation of how it sounds in real life, and won't be disappointed because it doesn't sound like in the movies. A lot of those YouTube channels fix their audio in post-processing to drop the volume when they shoot. You can hear this sometimes when they start talking during or immediately after shooting, and it sounds muffled, like the mic isn't working for a split-second, then it jumps back up to normal volume. That's how they bust themselves. But most folks don't make videos, so they don't know to look for that. I catch MAC and NFA Review Channel doing this a lot. I'm not a big MAC fan, but I like Adam (NFA Review), but he does process his audio sometimes.Assuming those were Subs. Great video

Gotcha, no big deal. I was just explaining a bit behind my thought process as to why my videos show the suppressors being louder than some other people’s videos. It’s because they want to be deceptive.Sorry for the “Assuming”. It was because I didn’t think they could suppress supers to be that quiet. For sound I was referencing the cycling of the action, but you did a really great job!
Correct, that’s why I don’t do any post-processing.I like and appreciate your videos, thank you; so this is not directed at you.
Any cell phone audio is clipped. Period. The phone does it when recording. Yes, youtubers often clip it again. But let's not forget, quite a few manufacturers do the same. The B&K or Larson Davis is still doing it's job, but the video recordings are never the same
But you can buy cans that have short and long configurable sections lolNo
If you want details, search the thread for “lawyers”
Not from Thunderbeast. But you can buy cans that have short and long configurable sections lol
Wrong. The fly cans are modular, so is the 50Not from Thunderbeast.
Modularity is not the issue. The Ultra 50 is modular. Shipping a suppressor with multiple end caps makes it so all parts are not configured and used when the suppressor is fully assembled. It's the extra parts that is the legal issue.Yes, there is a strange inconsistency in their logic, but the man himself has stated you’re not gonna buy end caps from them

I think there will be aftermarket non brake caps availableHopefully they change their mind and get with everybody else.
Ahh they should have the end cap for the silencer also be the end cap for the can.Modularity is not the issue. The Ultra 50 is modular. I don’t believe CGS sells a blast shield, not that I can find at least. I have 3 of their cans and they all came with 2 separate end caps.I'll just point out an example of a large suppressor manufacturer that would beg to differ on this point: Otter Creek Labs with their new Infinity series including vented and solid end caps.
I'm pretty sure every can manufacturer has just gone the direction of selling a blast diverter that happens to take their threaded end caps so the endcaps aren't considered suppressor parts and are thus able to be sold separately. This is my understanding of how companies like SiCo made the anchor brake and different diameter end caps for large bore stuff like the Hybrid available to consumers.
This is also why you can buy endcaps but not extra baffles. OCL has their blast can listed for the hilariously unaffordable price of $4200.69 because it's simply a legal workaround.https://ottercreeklabs.com/product/infinity-blast-diverter/
I don't really understand the distinction between a modular can which can have extra baffles hanging out in your parts bin and an extra endcap or modular endcap. My Dead Air Wolfman's front section and wipe-compatible thread insert sit unused in my parts bin while I used it in its short config.
That's a great example then. It looks like they don't sell them separately, so maybe the blast shield thing is just if you want to sell endcaps on their own?I don’t believe CGS sells a blast shield, not that I can find at least. I have 3 of their cans and they all came with 2 separate end caps.
Speaking of modular cans it’s a shame they don’t make a modular magnus that’s full size and K, flat end caps and a brake. I’m sure this is intentional as they’d rather sell you 2+ then 1.
Like the second long portion of the Fly 9 when you have it configured in short mode? Still doesn't make senseModularity is not the issue. The Ultra 50 is modular.
