He is not here

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” 8 Then they remembered his words.

Amen . In case you didn't know , Amen means "I Believe " .

I agree more with this:

Agreement and Affirmation:
When used at the end of a prayer or declaration, "amen" signifies that the speaker believes in and affirms the truth of what has been expressed. (Close to your definition.)

Hebrew Origin:
The word "amen" originates from the Hebrew word "āmēn," which means "certainty," "truth," and "verily".

Jesus' Use:
Jesus often used "amen" at the beginning of important statements to emphasize their truth and authority. (Verily).

Beyond a Simple End:
While often used at the end of prayers, "amen" can also be used to express agreement with statements, in oaths, or to conclude blessings.

"So be it":
Another way to understand "amen" is as an expression of "so be it," signifying a desire that something should come to pass.

I've been reading the gospels for a few weeks now, and it's been cool to read them straight through and get a better sense of how it all went. So thankful that we have such a Risen Savior. All of the 11 died professing the Name of Jesus and the works he had done and his teachings. People don't give their lives for a lie, and they don't spend their lives telling others for it either.

We can buy into all the things of this world, but we will leave them when we die. There is an afterlife. Christ has made the way. I know that not everyone here believes that, some don’t understand it, but after more than a few decades on this rock in some countries that no one has on their bingo card to go to, I can assure everyone that He is real and He is willing to receive us all, no matter what we have done if we accept Him and repent. That’s love. Between the anger of my past and the frustrations of life Christ was the only one that provided peace. I still think about those things but they keep getting more distant and He provides more peace. I sincerely hope everyone finds the same in Him that He offers.

I read it straight through every year. If you want a really good Biblical listen, The Unseen Realm by Dr. Michael Heiser is phenominal. Its focus is on Scripture from the viewpoint of the times they were written without modern interpretation skewing the true meanings.

I was just about to mention Michael Heiser in my post above until I saw you bring him up.

I love his podcasts "the naked Bible" many of which are on YouTube.

I do think though that going over his "unseen realm" and "reversing hermon" studies/books are good prerequisites before diving into the podcasts...otherwise the listener will have a lot of playing catch up to do.

Years ago I had a job where my best option for housing was an old stagecoach way station in the Rockies. I had no running water and a clock radio. I would have time after work to fish for trout in the stream that was beside me and once the night fell I studied Scripture. I spent two years referencing the Books of Wisdom together and studying doctrine by the fireplace. I listened to some solid pastors on that old radio. I wish I could relive that period of my life. It wasn’t perfect, but it was what I needed at that time.
