    The city leader iquoted in the article had to bring ”gun violence” into a discussion about a road rage beating. 😒 I say let them eat themselves.

    But yeah, 10 on one. If I were carrying, I’d be shooting...

    Well, I personally know some people would have a hard time doing that. Not sure why, maybe they think that “i am a good person, no way someone would want to harm me” mentality.

    i am the opposite. Id have shot the first guy who reached for my door and attempted to run over the rest, even if it meant i had to chase them a while.

    but i would have never let them surround my car either. Well, not without them disabling my car first.

    Know your vehicle. If she was in a sedan or other 'grocery getter," she's going to high center on a bike or assailant. Ramming a 4wheeler would probably set off the air bag...

    Keep in mind that you, the shooter, would probably be the one being arrested in this state. No way does Rhode Island have a 'stand your ground' rule and this is clearly outside of a person's house anyway. In this case, you, the shooter, are in a 3000 lb vehicle vs a bunch of kids on dirt bikes.

    Like others have said, I would be on the accelerator before I was grabbing a firearm. I would be heading towards the closest police station (hopefully I know where that is). If they tracked me down on and somehow disabled my vehicle, then the rules of engagement have changed in favor of the firearm.

    No warning shots, bro... I value ammo far more than I value mass produced ghetto crotchfruits who spend their lives terrorizing and brutalizing people. Each cartridge is a wonder of human engineering whose every component is the product of constant innovation spanning a period of 1000 years since the first Chinese imperial court jester lit off a firework to impress his king... I would never waste a round for a warning shot.

    Keep it mind, why? She was surrounded. There is no reasonable expectation of retreat when you're in that situation, "stand your ground" law or not.

    There was also a child in the mix. If the cops want to cuff me afterwards, so be it. I'll win that one too.

    The article states that the altercation started when the group was stopped at a light and did not move when it turned green. Likely that was not the "start" but when the group went into "lets increase our douche-bag quotient" because of some perceived slight from the trailing car. Her second mistake was not diverting to get away from the group after that honk...

    Doesnt matter, unless she harmed' someone there was no excuse for what they did. Even then she should have just been detained, not pummeled. Vigilante justice should be reserved for only the most egregious of circumstances.

    Same with "warning" shots. If it's just a warning, you can't exactly say you felt your life was in danger yet, and then shouldn't be firing a weapon.

    Probably just best to shoot/kill anyone who tries to open a door or breach a window.

    Actually interested in hearing your thoughts on this. Surrounded by a group like this, blocked from escape and some in that group are trying to open the door. The car's not going sideways so you're left with forward or reverse. In my humble opinion whoever in this group that is blocking my escape is SOL. ???

    When said person is detaining you so that others can drag you out, articulating the need for deadly force using the car as a weapon is very easy.

    Either one of those actions triggers castle doctrine in my state.

    In any case I'm not going to contemplate the finer points of the law while I'm being surrounded. I'm going to do whatever I have to do to prevail.

    If someone opens your door and tries to pull you from your car, how is that anything but a justified use of lethal force?

    The second they tried to open the door she should have put that gas pedal to the floor
