Yes it has. I saw it 25 yearrs ago when I was at UVA. Nobody ever faied, it looks bad for a professor to have students not pass so...grade inflation. Years later I looked back at some of the papers I got A-/B+ on and wondered...WTF, how did I not get a C- or less on some of those?

had someone in my Bio 200+ class that couldn't read outloud or spell, nope, communicate and intricate idea or thought, absolutely not. Sadly the guy wasn't a bad dude, but teachers for years had passed him based only on the idea he needed help, not with the idea they could help.

I actually attended one of these classes at WVU. My academic advisory put me in this class to help get my GPA up. I was the only one not on the football team. There were white and black guys in the the class. I can't actually recall the name of the class, but we were to do homework for other classes and show it to the teachers assistant. He would write down attendance and we all got As for that class. Wasn't long after that I found my self in basic training at Fort Benning.

It's wrong to be racist but it's OK if they're cops or have different politics (or if it's the good old-fashioned "I'm not saying they're less capable because of their skin color but I'm not saying they aren't" brand). It's wrong to be islamophobic but it's OK to be antisemtic. It's wrong to require voting ID but it's OK to require covid passports. It's OK to be gay but not if you don't want to date someone trans. It's wrong to be homophobic but it's OK to support cultures where they execute gays.
thats because colleges get a president who only plans on staying for a few years....so in order to make himself "stand out", they boost enrollment numbers, boost graduation numbers......and that makes them look great. they can put that shit on a resume and tell everyone how awesome they are.
