    Gunsmithing 30/06 chamber?

You are thinking of the Serengeti reamer? Just out of curiosity, y do u wanna shoot 168s out of a 30-06?

    185gr Berger VLD + H-4350 OCW; 30-06

Internet searches for the above powder and bullet combo yielded very few useful hits, however, the believable information I saw seemed to indicate that there an OCW in the 57ish grain powder charge. I read some of German Salazar’s post on 30-06 reloading and one of the things he did was compare...

    Chronograph

Skip the CED...I have one. It sucks. It only worked for a week and is very sensitive to light conditions even with the IR screens. I have a magneto speed and couldn't be happier. Tests have shown that it is just as accurate and repeatable as the $600+ Oheler-35.

Hunting & Fishing Impressed with m855 as a pig round.

I would get a bigger sample size before being impressed bro...one result does not a pattern set...

    Bergers in stock

Is there a special hide price or is the deal for hiders only on shipping?

Range Report How accurate is your chrono??--

i second six_feet_under. My CED is a piece of shit...only worked for a little while and gives me error messages...even with IR screens it's still super-sensitive to light. worst investment i ever made. I now have a magnetospeed V2. I cant wait to try it out...hopefully all the rave reviews...

    dpms g2 catering primers

Your primers though cratered look fine. The brass looks in great condition. Since it's a new gun, you can send it back if it bothers you but there's nothing you can do about it other than replace the bolt with a properly head-spaced one.

    Holy smokes, DPMS G2 rifles

For those saying "meh" and "not that good", what you are seeing is the skill level of the shooter shooting a rifle without enough rounds through the barrel. (No offense to jb326). The fact that the rifle has produced sub-minute groups with a new barrel means that the rifle can do this...

Rifle Scopes MOA Ranging Reticle Idea

That's an excellent idea. I'm an MOA/IPHY shooter...i would love this sort of MOA-based reticle on my hunting rigs...if my battery goes dead on my rangefinder, or i forget to bring it, or loose it, i'm not SOL when that trophy shows up at an UKD.

Velocities seem low for my AR loads

bbowles, Where did you get ur ar-comp & varget from?

Average weight of a complete 308AR with scope ?

Can you provide us with pictures or a description of your build? You can buy 308s as light as 7.25lbs or as heavy as 11.2lbs empty.

Poor accuracy from my recent build (Kreiger barrel)

Sterling Shooter is correct...as always. I'm not convinced the issue doesn't lie with the shooter or his loads. If you look at the loads he put up, the POI is consistent, meaning (no scope, mount, or rifle issue!!!) It boils down to two(2) things: 1. Shooter 2. Load. I'll also point out...

    1903A4 clone ...

That's a sexy rifle steppennwolf! Can you also post pictures of groups you've shot? Have you had a chance to develop loads for her?

Poor accuracy from my recent build (Kreiger barrel)

OP, Your approach is all wrong. Your problem is clear as day...you've done no serious load development and expect a load that happens to shoot well in one rifle to shoot well in your other rifle. Seldom does a single load do well in ALL rifles. You need to find a load that works in YOUR...

Hunting & Fishing Using a 308 AR for elk, deer, speed goats, etc, this year

skg_Mre_Lght, Nice to see someone else is also rocking a 20" 308AR for a hunting rig. Your last build needs a new/different stock...an ace skeleton stock, new Magpul Rifle length, or oldie but goodie A2 stock. That'll help you loose about at least 0.5lbs from the rear. I picked up another...

.308 Bullet and powder selection for 18" barrel

stang_j_99, No, the rules of thumb above only applies to older bullet designs (168s/175/178s). The berger hybrid is in a different class. It has a higher BC than the 175SMK, and can be launched faster.

Alliant AR-Comp vs 2000-MR. Test Results

Bach, Yes, your experience is identical to mine except the barnes TTSX. The barnes bullets will have completely different load info due to the fact that they are made of copper alloys and thus longer than standard lead bullets for a given bullet weight. That means they have a longer bearing...

Alliant AR-Comp vs 2000-MR. Test Results

Bach, I forgot to add something i've noticed with Alliant's load data: 1. They are actually accuracy nodes, and not at all max pressure loads despite the obligatory legalese prior to entering their reloading guide. 2. I've been able safely to push 0.5-1.5gr above the published loads in almost...

Bach, What have you noticed for 175gr bullets?
